Jack's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Petal

1st time @ Jack's w/ my Husband yesterday. Cashier greeted us like she was Narcoleptic about to fall asleep. We were super friendly asking about the burgers & what she recommends being she worked there. Here answer about the burgers was "I have no idea". So my husband ordered the burger with bacon & I asked her what was on the cheeseburgers in the 2 cheese burger meal. She told me about the secret sauce. I asked if it was ketchup based. Most are same at chicken places such as raising Cane's. Her answer was "I have no idea". Lol The reason I asked that was because I asked her what it kinda what it tasked like first but she "had no idea". Lol

Anyway, aside from the clueless cashier the burgers tasted like Frozen microwaved burgers (left overs basically) fries had orange on some of them but the orange had zero taste. Idk what it was. It wasn't powder like seasoning. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Soda was also super flat. And we each had a different kind.

We didn't complain there because we're just not like that. We just won't go back.

After spending at least 10 minutes to order, and at least 15 more minutes waiting in the drive thru just to pay for my food (literally turned my vehicle off the wait was so long), let alone to get it; one of the servers had the nerve to look at me like I wasn’t supposed to look into the window! We darn near ended up with hypertension from the fries alone! It’s like all the seasoning that was supposed to be on the food ended up only on the fries. My strawberry lemonade shake was the only thing that was good. But for as long as the wait is, I’d rather go to Chick Fil A. We also had the pleasure of watching many of the staff empathize with a crew member who was mourning some news she’d gotten about her grandmother, asked to leave and being told very matter of factly “you can go”, before the manager turned around and laughed with another staff member about how “they be sooo ready to go home!” Anyway, I’m not sure what they intended to bring to the neighborhood, but we could’ve gone...

Great southern cooking!! Friendly staff. Edit:since this review I have moved to Petal MS. I still love their food especially breakfast but service has gone down hill. This morning I asked that they make sure my sausage egg and cheese biscuit had the egg and cheese on it. The last 2 times I ordered it I received only a plain sausage biscuit but paid for the full. They seem to be in a rush which I don't understand because I have never seen a line of cars there. This morning the sandwiches were right but they didn't give me a straw. Attention to detail people!! I am broken hearted because I do love the food but I expect a decent level of service and not to feel like I'm an inconvenience to them. I don't mean to bring race into it but at first seemed to be mostly African American staff and I never had a problem and they were extremely nice. Lately been mostly white staff and less than friendly. And yes, I am white. I don't care about color, just heart and...
