The outside looks quite nice, but the inside seriously needs revamped. Seats are torn, both coffee cups we had had chips in them and were stained. 1 waitress was OK, the one that gave us our drinks looked as if we were an inconvenience to her, I asked for a bottle of water (2 times) I got a smooshed bottle that actually had mold on the lid. (it would not even stand up) I don't know why they put ice (a lot of it) in a glass of orange juice. (no restaurant I've been too)
French Toast and hashbrowns, I specifically told them nothing added. (as she asked) they came with onions and peppers, sent them back, when the new ones came, they were mushy and cold. I was then charged on the bill for the water and the extra for the onions and such. Spoke to a man who appeared in charge, fixed the bill, and I think there was a thank you, but I do not remember hearing an apology. Both my husband and I felt ill afterwards. I do not believe we will...
Read moreI’ve been coming to the Peterborough Diner at least 1-2x per week for breakfast (and lunch several times) in the last year.
I have never had a bad experience here. They always get my order right, no matter what I order. The food is always hot and fresh and the restaurant is kept clean.
I’ve been to other diners in these old dining cars and they often times rely on the dining car to draw people in for the “experience”, but miss on the food. That is not the case here.
If you’re not worried about calories, order the Country Fried Steak Eggs Benedict! It’s delicious! But you will also need a mid-morning nap.
They have delicious pancakes and french toast that you can’t go wrong with. A decent kids menu, too.
If you come in a lunch, you can’t go wrong with the burger or the hot dogs (the chili cheese dogs are...
Read moreThis was the first time we ate here, even though we have been to Peterborough many times. We are not into over priced fancy eateries and this is a low key, high volume food distribution diner. Anne had the Monte Carlo sandwich with meats and cheese on grilled bread and French fries for $11.50.I had the Chef Salad with lettuce, chopped tomatoes, sliced onions, thick sliced cucumbers, strips of ham, roast beef and chunks of chicken and eggs....with honey mustard dressing --- in all good size bowl and 3 pitta wedges that were baked --- best and very filling salad for $11.95 plus 2 cups of hot delicious coffee. They serve breakfast all day and lunch after 11:00 am and close at 2pm. Stop in and checkout an extensive menu with plenty of seating. W Next time we are in the area and hungry, this will be a good...
