Very often I go after lunch to the store in McMurray. I rarely go in the morning, but today especially I wanted to go to dedicate time to myself, because I am pregnant. The woman at the cash register, seemed to be having a bad day, was a bit rough, I'm from South America and we met with my husband when he was on vacation in Chile. I had never been treated as if I was stupid when speaking, I have a different accent is true, the man who was next to her understood me perfectly when I told her my request, however she seemed frustrated .. I sat down to wait for my chai, when she yells, chai ready !, it was strange, since they always take me to the table when I ask for food, I picked up my tea and went back to the table to wait for my food. Only 2 minutes later I see that she brings tea to a girl who was sitting at the table next to me, the woman with a rather more friendly attitude. Before I left I bought my favorite cookie, she opened the glass door badly mood and put my two maccaronis inside the box and handed me the box in the bad mood and with the box opened.. It is the first time in a year being here , that I felt discriminated and in my favorite place, where everyone has always been kind. No one wants to go back to a place where you are not welcome. We are always generous and kind to people, I leave my 20% tip or more with my husband (obviously today I didn’t ), I gave them less money. They should work on the attitude towards clients regardless of race, religion,...
Read moreI've stopped here on three separate occasions. Here are the highs and lows: Pros: The food was delightful. I was there for breakfast once, for lunch another time, and once just for a sweet treat. The chef (I won't say cook, because the food is that good) brought the food out to me when I was there for breakfast and lunch and was super pleasant and welcoming. It is a quaint little place. This is a good thing, except when it's busy, which may make it hard to move around or to find a table. But personally I find this to be on the charming side. The individual working the register seemed inconvenienced by my presence. You wait, even if they are able to see you, until they finish whatever they're doing (note: not serving another customer) before you are served. They are not pleasant or welcoming, and frankly a bit curt and not the face this place deserves and should want. It's a bit grimy. I mostly noticed this on my most recent visit, so it could be a new occurrence. There were greasy finger prints and marks on the walls, pictures, and booth seat. This is also beneath what you'd expect from this establishment on face value.
Long story short, a quick round of housecleaning (both with the physical space and the staff) and I'd be all...
Read moreCalled to inquire about a small catering order and after being on hold for several minutes, the woman who answered was terribly rude. The conversation quickly deteriorated, with more attitude from this woman (for no reason) than I would ever even allow my teenager to take with me.
After the stern "Bartram House" I asked how much notice is needed for a catering event Bartram House - "What do you want" (with all the attitude)
This threw me that there wasn't a standard notice timeframe, but thought - ok maybe it depends on what we need, so I began to list the items;
Small Pastry Tray Small Fruit Tray Began to state Breakfast Burrito tray, but was very sharply cut off by Miss Attitude (Who didn't sound young, so even more surprising someone mature (by age only obvy) would act so immature) `anyhow I was cut off with "WE DONT, UGH WE DONT DO THE SMALL ANYMORE, (more scoffing) WE ONLY DO MEDIUM OR LARGES
And that is where and when I lost it and began to yell back at her, first stating that it doesn't state that anywhere on the (expletive) website you (expletive expletive)
I lost my patience, yelled at her, then hung up. Save yourself the frustration, and the disappointment - GO...
