I stopped by Sonic around 4:30 PM and initially proceeded to the drive-through. My family suggested parking at one of the stalls for faster service, as there were a few cars in line at the drive-through. Following their advice, we decided on our order: a Garlic Butter Bacon Cheeseburger combo with a Caramel shake, a Super Sonic with bacon, onion rings, and strawberry Fanta, and a Super Sonic with Groovy fries and Ocean Water medium ice.
What we received was less than satisfactory. The Garlic Butter Cheeseburger came without bacon, the strawberry Fanta seemed to be a super sweet strawberry slush with a jelly-like texture, and there were no Groovy fries. To make matters worse, all the drinks were leaking, and we had to send one back because the cup had a hole in it. We waited nearly half an hour, only to receive cold food.
I decided to pull up to the drive-through window to request a new order, which took another 10-15 minutes to prepare. During this time, someone who had placed an order and pulled up behind me eventually drove away after waiting too long.
I usually don’t eat fast food, and this experience reinforced why. Since Covid, the customer service at this location has been inconsistent. I hope they get their act together; I might try...
Read moreIt's sad that this is the closest fast food joint to our home with frozen treats that we drive past regularly for better service elsewhere. When I say bad service, I don't just mean service is slow, which is also sometimes true, but forgivable. I mean that they get the order wrong frequently or fail to prepare it to minimum standards (ie. unblended frozen treats or missing listed ingredients). The employees either cannot or pretend not to understand you if you ask for any changes or have questions, then they stop responding at all. I don't know, perhaps their intercom systems are substandard, but language barriers do not seem to be the issue. If your order is wrong, you can forget getting it corrected. I would rather be told they cannot fulfill my order correctly for whatever reason and order something different, or wait a little longer, than pay for something wrong while the employees pretend you're not there. I get that fast food service standards have gotten lower and lower these days, but I am willing to bet this location is either unwilling or unable to invest in adequate staffing or invest in better systems. Just imagine how much more revenue this location could generate from local customers...
Read moreI went around 10:30 to get drink I order online and went through drive thru waited at least 5 mins no one came on speaker and I understand sometimes that doesn’t work so I pull up to window wait , wait and wait still no one comes to let me know something, I knock on window mind you it’s me and one other car there only so it wasn’t like they were busy I know they have to see me, FINALLY WHAT SEEMED LIKE 10 minutes I believe she was the manager or assistant manager stated that the other speaker doesn’t work till after 11:30 so I said why not let us know with a sign she stated that she has told corporate for the last 2 yrs and she had had no luck so then I stated to her what was her excuse for not coming to window after 10 mins there and of course all she said was drinks are on me but I had already paid for them didn’t seem like she cared what so ever I even said thank u and told her hope she understood my frustration all she said was oh believe me I get it corporate frustrates me too !
