TaterQue — Restaurant in Pflugerville

Super excited to try so much of the food on Taterque’s menu. Myself and two other friends put in our orders and were told it would talk 30-45mins for our food to arrive. We didn’t mind waiting since we had heard good things. I personally ordered the seafood Mac n Cheese, lakesides loaded fries, and the boudin egg rolls. My friends both received their food in the time frame (30mins for one friend and 45mins for the other) and let me have some of theirs while I waited for mine. Their food was so good (Berkmans loaded fries, loaded lamars fries, and the two-3 spud) the bbq sauce is fabulous and the meat was cooked to perfection. However, after waiting over an hour I let the staff know that I was still waiting on my food. No one really had a response for me as to what the holdup was. One of the servers tried to show me all the orders they had waiting but frankly I didn’t care due to waiting over an hour. Ashanti eventually let me know that they were backed up from the Sunday brunch so they were trying to catch up on orders. She let me know I could wait some more (she wasn’t sure how much longer I’d be waiting) or she could give me a refund. Sadly, I decided to just get a refund because my friends had already finished their food and I wasn’t too happy about having to wait very much longer. Ashanti brought me my refund but only refunded me for my meal. My tip that I gave was not refunded which I’m not entirely sure why. I had my stomach and heart set on that food and was so excited to try everything. I wish my experience would’ve been better. I will also say the atmosphere and vibe of Taterque is great and the DJ was awesome, just wish I would’ve been able to...

I had no idea what I was walking into when I decided to try TaterQue- I just knew I had been craving BBQ, TQ was nearby, and a baked potato sounded good. I ordered as a takeout order, as I was on my way home from work. I didn't order online, because I'm the type of person who needs to look at the menu in-person when trying a new place. The place was packed. Google's busy-meter thing said busier than normal- that red bar was almost double what the normal blue bar showed... it was loud and I only saw 2 open tables, one of which had no chairs. The employees that I interacted with were all lovely. The lady at the register was able to hear me over the noise and got my order correct. The lady that brought my food out was cheerful and polite, and apologetic for the wait (about 25 minutes). I had a build your own with brisket, mild bbq sauce, bacon, cheese, and butter. The flavor of the brisket was good. I could only locate maybe 2 little pieces of bacon, so I'm not sure if they happened to be mixed in with the brisket and they forgot to add the bacon, or if that's really how much bacon I paid for. It definitely could have used more sauce than the drizzle on top and the butter I found was in a cup, not on the potato itself. My husband got the Alamo. He said it was pretty good but didn't elaborate. The kid got the chicken strips and mac n cheese. She said the strips were standard and the mac was good but had a lot of pepper. None was shared with me, so I can't give my personal opinions. Overall, it was a good experience, but given the price, we probably won't make a specific trip...

I've only had this delivered so I can't comment on the staff or the inside establishment. What I will say is that this place is good.....DANGEROUSLY good. I got the potatoes with brisket, lemon pepper wings and Mac and cheese. Those lemon pepper wings are the best I've ever had and that potatoe dish is straight fire. Mac and cheese is good, but pretty on par with most restaurants. As good as this place is, I've only ordered once. This place is just too good, I will be ordering from here for special occasions or if I want to treat myself for doing something good or accomplishing something. If I made this a regular thing, I'd end up on that show My 600lb Life. This to me is like fair food, good on special occasions but you can't make a habit out of it (well, you can, but i hope you have a great metabolism). I'll be ordering within the next week because I earned it but then I'll have to wait a while until I deserve it lol. I hear this is a black owned business which makes me love it more, they're doing fantastic work and I hope this place is successful and stays open. If not....they better get a food truck or figure something out because food this good needs to be shared with the world....in moderation😉.

So happy this establishment is in Pflugerville, go check them out. Your scale may regret it, but your stomach will not! Sooooo good!!!! Also, don't let the prices scare you off, they are generous with those portions! It took me 2 days to finish the potato dish, and I ordered a regular size portion. This is definitely my new "treat...
