1731 Restaurant — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Absolutely LOVED 1731! I was invited to a dinner for my Aunt's 90th Birthday. I want to say there was about 25 of us. We were in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. There were a bunch of tables pushed together to make one big long table - just like we did back in the day at Sunday dinner when everyone was gathered in one small row home - usually the grandparent's home. And, just like those old fashioned Sunday dinners, the plates were mismatched, the glasses were mismatched - it was such a beautiful representation of what so many of us experienced growing up. It made me miss those dinners and all the memories made around those pushed together tables. My Aunt had a wonderful time and we all enjoyed getting to celebrate her and all she means to us. The downstairs portion has a bit of that same "home like" feeling. It is a bit tight logistically but not in a way that would seem uncomfortable. There is also outdoor seating that would be great on a nice Autumn or Spring day. The food was Delicious. There was Chicken Parm, Filet Mignon, Veggies, Antipasto, Pasta - all very well executed. The staff was kind, friendly and always smiling and laughing with us. Excellent service from really nice staff. My Son Andrew, his girlfriend Malorie & Nephew Louie took my Momma here last night for her 79th Birthday !! My son has been dieing to take her to. She is the biggest food critic and with that said, she was SO impressed, in love with this amazing restaurant the sweetness of people, which she is "Still" raving about this moring!!! The owner Robin, Stephanie all of them she loved. . The food was out of this world she said ! Along with the atmosphere, the family history, decor!!
