I had the displeasure of entering this store on 9/4/24. I went in to renew my membership and order a cake. There was nobody at the door to greet in the usual way they do at BJs, ok I understand many places are short staffed. The person in the bakery department was cold and "robotic" as my daughter termed it. When I went to the customer service counter to renew my membership the person at the counter did not say hello, did not smile, just blurted out demands "membership card and id" and whatever options needed to be entered on the screen onmy side. In the midst of my transaction another employee in a teflective vest (from what I could see from my peripheral vision) came up and without saying excuse me or anything of the sort started inquiring about his missing wallet, the customer service rep completely disregarded the fact that she was mid transaction/interaction with me and focused all of her attention on the employee with the missing wallet telling him she hadn't seen it and nobody had turned it in only to finally turn around and pull it from the cabinet and hand it to him after wasting several minutes of my time as well as his. Upon leaving the store I had my receipt out and ready, the receipt checker at the door looked at my receipt and then pointed at my 16 year old daughter and in a very pervy way said "is this receipt for her?" To which I responded "it's for the chicken I purchased but my daughter is carrying it" and again he smiled and said "No, I mean is this for her" the entire interaction was skeevy, pervy and gross and my daughter was left feeling very uncomfortable. I encountered several employees in this club location, not a single one said "can I help you" or offered so much as a smile. This place seemed like...
Read moreIt would have initially been a 1 star experience for our first time being there as new club members, but our time at the end saved it. We didn't appreciate the clean energy salesperson approaching us suddenly about changing our energy provider, which is not related to our shopping, at all. We could have done without that interaction. Finding what we needed was okay, but it was upsetting that certain things weren't available (hash browns, grapes) for purchase. Once in line, the young man that would be our cashier was very immature to the point that once my lady was ready to pay, he decided to joke around with my lady, as if I wasn't standing there, and ended up keying in the wrong payment method AND payment amount. This caused the transaction to be voided and had to be re-scanned by a member of leadership. He apologized and decided to complement me on my shirt as a way to save face. Thankfully, the member of leadership, Krystal is her name, and will be the only person I mention by name, was professional, and apologized for our experience, time wasted (over an hour), and reduced our total (originally over $560) by a significant amount for our troubles. We didn't like part of our Saturday being wasted like that, but she made up for it. And for that, we...
Read moreIf you live near another club, try going elsewhere or use the drive up pickup service. I have been a member of this club for the past 4 years and my experience is always sub standard. Even before the pandemic, this BJ's was staffed with some of the rudest most apathetic workers you can come across. Often club members get into verbal arguments and physical altercations over who was in line first. This is because club employees refuse to give any direction to create order during checkout. The last straw for me was when I had to go two separate times to return a luggage set and my return was rejected twice. Why? Because I bought the item from another location so they refused to honor their refund policy. I had to contact corporate and STILL the associates argued that store policy overrules corporate policy. I left the luggage set in store and the associate pictured with the twists threatened to call the police on me.
Update: BJ's corporate apologized, promising to help me get my money back, unfortunately a week later they failed to follow up with me. I submitted complaints to the BBB, my bank, my attorney general, and to the FTC. Luckily my membership JUST expired and I will...
