Fresh Gulf Seafood — Restaurant in Philadelphia

It pains me to give this place a bad review because they are very friendly with good service, however smiling faces don't compensate for bad food. The last few times I've gone in and order a whiting or flounder sandwich the fish was old and dried out. I believe in giving second and third chances because I've eaten here so many times in the past but today was the fourth time I received fish that was simply old, the breading was dark and looked like it had been fried maybe 2 days ago. I grew up in South Philly, we use to have really good seafood down...

Not sure what the hype is all about. The shrimp were lacking flavor. The crab cake was strangely acceptable. Not eye appealing as it looked like a large hush puppy. It could have used a bit more seasoning. Broccoli was good....not excellent or great but good. Catfish was the best in my combination platter. I usually enjoy coleslaw when most folks don't but this was not good at all to me. Gentleman working the counter was very nice and helpful. Place appeared clean. Same platter from a place like Benny The Bums would have had me moaning...

Where do I begin??? All the food is cooked so well done crispy and it's so delicious the crab sticks are very good the chicken wings are so crispy and seasoned the fries are the best the platters are so filling the seafood is just OMG out of this world especially the snow crabs with the sides included simmered in butter and so many other good spices and last but not least the flounder sandwiches are just so delicious 😋🤤 I'm going back again this week...
