Brooklyn Dumpling Shop — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I was in the area with a group of 4 so we stopped by to eat. They only had 3 tables for dine-in, which seems sufficient given there wasn’t anyone else dining in when we entered. There were a lot of options on the menu and the food tasted okay. There were 2 people working when we went. My group ordered separately but around the same time. Our food took absurdly long to be ready and the orders came out one at a time, with long gaps in between. They also packed our food in large brown paper bags even though we were dining in. It was a strange experience. The employee at the front was friendly and polite but seems to need more training. They would probably also benefit from training on efficiency. Clean restaurant. Nice staff. Food was pretty mediocre but maybe it was an off day. Peanut sauce for fries was watered down and flavorless, the actual fries were pretty good though. Girlfriend and I got 4 different types of dumplings to try. Mac and cheese, Korean BBQ, Kung Pao chicken, and Bacon Cheeseburger which were all decent but the best one was the Mac and cheese which were basically just Mac and cheese bites.

The most frustrating part is the ordering process, I don’t typically mind ordering with a kiosk as long as you’re able to actually communicate customizations. I ordered the combo and wanted to do a burger for my protein but there’s no way to make any kind of substitutions or to remove anything that you’re not interested in from...

DO NOT ORDER UBER EATS! - This place is a joke. I placed an order on Uber eats. The staff failed to confirm the Driver and as a result my order was stolen. The staff then refused to remake the order for the new driver and refused to pick up the phone for me when asked. I called 10+ times before I got an answer. It’s 2am and I placed the order over an hour ago. The store and other options are now closed! I was given the number to a man they call Daniel General. He failed to pick up the phone as well.
