I came here on Sunday and it was a beautiful day. There is street parking available. I went with another person and we ordered a Bun Rieu and Mi Quang noodles. It was absolutely delicious! Bun Rieu is a Vietnamese soup of clear stock and rice vermicelli. The Mi Quang noodles consisted of noodles, meat and herbs. The peanut oil definitely made it more tasteful and enjoyable. We did not have to wait long before the food came. I also like the fact that this place is family owned! The restaurant owner is always friendly when he greets us and is quite hilarious - in a good way, of course! Both bowls came out steaming hot the way we liked it. I am especially a fan of the Cha Lua that is included in both bowls. Cha Lua is known as a type of sausage that is made of pork roll. They taste so good and is super fresh! Their calming instrumental Vietnamese music is relaxing and brings back many memories of Home. Their Vietnamese iced coffee with extra condensed milk is also to die for! I also did like the flan, but next time maybe I wouldn’t sprinkle coffee on top! Overall, 10/10 and I will always...
Read moreWhen it comes to Vietnamese food, I've only had pho until this day! Today I had MÌ Quảng ĐẶC Biệt, and it was sooo good! It was a noodle soup with beef, chicken, ham, shrimp, and wide turmeric rice noodles (not vegetarian). The rectangular sheet in the photo is a pressed rice crisp.
My Vietnamese friend was initially slightly disappointed because it was "too soupy" than it was supposed to be, but then he approved that the food was really good! According to him, the taste has been moderately well localized to cater to American customers, but not too far off from the taste of the home!
The restaurant also sells various desserts, snacks, and sauces. I got flan and crispy rice chips.
The only downside of the place is the location and accessibility. I really wish this place wasn't in Kensington.
The restaurant closes at 5pm, but they may stop dine-in around...
Read moreWas new to this style of noodles, and I was definitely pleased with the result. Went with the mi quang special. The noodles were delicious, a lovely texture and plentiful. The assortment of meat was very well prepared, including the shrimp, Vietnamese ham, meatballs, pork, and beef-the beef was my favorite. The sauce was flavorful and I was grateful that chili oil was available to supplement it.
The space itself can seem a bit cramped. We happened to arrive at a good time when a table fitting our party as available, but it seems like the place would fill quickly so you may not get as lucky. Service was super quick. Overall, definitely worth a trek to...
