I ordered 2 chicken pastelillos and 2 alcapurrias through Uber eats. I go in 10 mins after ordering and picked up my food. Thank god I checked the bag because my alcapurrias were missing and I had a total of 4 pastelillos. I go in and tell them the problem, the girl taking orders up front gives the bag to who ever packed my order. I didn’t get any apology and the lady just looked at me with a face like “damn I messed up your order”. She then proceeds to ask the kitchen for 2 alcapurrias, which they don’t have ready, so I have to wait another 10 minutes for them to be fried. I go to the car and come back in, as I’m coming in I see the cashier grabbing my bag from the kitchen as she is coughing over my food, she then proceeds to give my food to the lady who originally packed it as she is touching her nose 😅. The cashier then proceeds to give me my food and STILL at no point did anyone apologize for the inconvenience. The cherry on top is that I am 8 1/2 months pregnant so I was looking forward to eating the alcapurrias and they were so bland. The masa and meat inside was bland, absolutely no flavor. Never going there again. Customer service sucked and so did my portion...
Read moreWent to get a breakfast sandwich. The line just to order was really long. Which is to be expected here.. Ended up ordering something that was already made because I could not wait any longer but I was ok with that. Went to pay and was standing at the register and the staff kept skipping me to bring up other people that were after me. I was patient, happened 3 times so I said something and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Then the cashier did it again. I get the hype of this place because it reminds people of the bakery/cafes in Puerto Rico. But, the food is over priced. The staff is so rude. The wait is long. They are very unorganized. This is not the type of service you get at a traditional panaderia (bakery) in Puerto Rico. When you go to a bakery in Puerto Rico you feel some sort of joy to be there and usually a good connection with those who work there. I wish this was the feeling at El Coqui. But no. You actually leave feeling stressed out, even angry. Not good...
Read moreI regretfully spent $60 at this place on food that turned out to be terrible. I have never had such unpleasant food from this establishment or anywhere else. I called to inform them about the issue and explained that I still had all the food with me. However, they responded by saying that they do not receive complaints and therefore cannot address the situation. Although disappointed, I acknowledged their response. The food was truly awful, as if it had been sitting out all day. Even now, two days later, I still have the food. In fact, I can post a picture of it to further illustrate my point. I will never recommend anyone to go here or spend their money because the establishment prioritizes greed and money over their customers. It is unfortunate that this undermines the reputation of Latinos. I wish you a...
