Took a chance at this storefront location and was immensely rewarded. Got a General Tso lunch special, and, a Curry Chicken with Onions (and other vegetables) lunch special for $7.25 each. (Then, now looking at $7.65 to start (5/2025).)
The containers were PACKED. No skimping on the chicken. The containers had half of each along with the pork fried rice I ordered. The rice had white onions and beans sprouts in it too. The pork was nice and fresh, and in chunks.
The General Tso's chicken was nice and moist, and came with three broccoli crowns. I'd prefer more spicy heat though. (The Sesame Chicken is similar but without the heat. See 5/2025 photo.)
The Curry Chicken was great and also came with julienned carrots, green bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, snow peas, and, celery. The Curry was very flavorful and had a nice mild kick. (P.S.: The Szechuan Chicken at this place is also basically the same ingredients but comes in a brown sauce. This is how they do things with most veggies. See photo.)
The Curry Chicken also held up well as a next morning bite to eat.
NEW!!! Got the Boneless Pork Ribs. It's candied pork butt with the pork fried rice (as usual, see rice description). Be sure to ask for a side of hot chili oil. (Then every dish can become truly HOT AND SPICY.) New pics added below.
The dining area was basic but there was a steady stream of customers as I ate in during the 2 p.m. hour.
I would eat here again! This is a good...
Read moreI have given this restaurant four or five tries, so I can write a fair review. Like others have said, if you want cheap Americanized corner store Chinese food, then this place is fine. If you want good authentic Chinese food, head over to Chinatown or go to Ken Shin Heng Feng on the next block. I will write about the dishes that I remember.
The first time I got food here, I had hot and sour soup. It did not have bamboo shoots, fungus, or tofu like I am used to. I definitely do not recommend the hot and sour soup.
The second time I got food here, I had curry chicken over rice. It was not the bone-in, skin-on chicken wings and potatoes that I am used to. It was dry pieces of chicken breast and peppers over not even much rice. I definitely do not recommend the curry chicken over rice either.
The third time I got food here, I had the shrimp lo mein lunch special. The lo mein was very bland. The lunch special included "fried rice" which just seemed like steamed white rice that had been drenched in soy sauce. I definitely do not recommend either of those items either.
The fourth time I got food here, I had the fried chicken wings and fries. The fries were just okay but the wings were actually very good so that is one item that I will definitely order again. I'll try the shrimp fried rice with the...
Read moreThis restaurant charged our credit card twice. The first was the actual charge for our food, but the second charge was for a different amount and was made on a day we did not order anything from them. When we called to resolve the issue, we were told that since they had the receipt of the 2nd order (the one we did not place), they stated that they would not refund our money. After explaining that we could prove that we couldn't have mad the purchase, as we were at an appointment, they still refused to issue a refund. I would warn anyone against using their credit card at...
