Some street parking here for this very large Brewery but a really cool and open space. Bar area and since dining table areas inside, outside and upstairs. They have a menu so you can't bring your own food here. We ordered flights and the Blueberry lemon creme Brulee.
2 Flights [4x 5 oz each] 1 customized/1 pre selected- Revolutionary Flight
Customized Philly Standard - definitely a refreshing and easy to drink beer. If you're not used to craft beers, this is a good transition into doing so. Love Stout - this is an interesting one, not a fan of the smell but you get a hint of chocolate starting off and then some coffee aftertaste. Summer Crush - also a light refreshing beer and actually reminds me of Blue Moon with a slightly more citrus note. Grapefruit Summer Wheat - hint of grapefruits and very light. Definitely a good summer beer and great for a good summer BBQ.
Revolutionary Flight Washington Porter - more of a coffee flavor than the love Stout and I do prefer this one over the Stout. A little heavier but very tasty. Jefferson's Golden Ale - a little heavier than your standard Golden Ale but it is smooth to drink. I was unable to kind of drive down to the flavor notes. Poor Richard's Spruce Ale - I enjoy Amber Ales and you do get the spruce hints of of this in the flavor and the smell. Very light on the molasses but not heavy at all and easy on the palette. Extra Special Ale - very floral on the initial taste, you do get a hit of malt on the aftertaste. Not my favorite, but still good.
Good size merchandise area as well.
The creme brulee actuallit was served out of the ramekin [similar to a flan] and served with some cut up blueberries and strawberries on the side with some summer berry sauce. You don't get too much of the lemon though. It was good but a little thicker than your standard creme brulee. Had some blueberries baked in.
Great service and friendly bartender (Dave), he gave us some additional samples. Overall love it here and would love to come back to see what else they come up with. My favorite beer by them is the French Toast Bites Ale. One of the last samples we tried was the Barrel Aged Tripel. Definitely get the Whiskey hints in the smell and taste and the barrel...
Read moreI went to the Yards with high hopes, expecting a warm welcome and a good time, but instead, I left feeling deeply hurt and disillusioned. As someone who always tries to support local businesses, I never expected to witness racial discrimination in this day and age.
From the moment I walked in, I could sense a difference in how I was treated compared to others. The staff was dismissive and inattentive, and I couldn't help but notice how much more polite and accommodating they were to other patrons. It wasn't until I was seated that the true gravity of the situation became apparent. For example I waited significantly longer like an hr to get served a beer and table . I was ignored while others around me were greeted promptly, and when I tried to get the attention of a server, I was met with cold indifference. It’s painful to acknowledge, but the treatment I received felt like it was rooted in racial bias.
I invited friends out of state to watch the eagles game as well. We waited a significant amount of time to get a table. While we were in line these group of girls cut in front of us. So someone in our group brought it to there attention. Once seated that group threw a drink at us. I know it wasn't right but we could only put up with so much and we answered back. In stead of staff intervening they kicked us out even though we weren't antagonizing others. It was as though my feelings didn’t matter, and I left the establishment feeling more invisible than ever.
I’ve always believed in the power of a community to support one another, but this experience has shaken me to the core. No one should ever have to endure discrimination, especially in a place where they’re supposed to feel safe and valued. I hope this review encourages others to reflect on their own experiences here and holds this establishment accountable for the hurt they've caused.
Next time you want to support the birds definitely go else where....
Read moreWe had a group come for the Eagles game yesterday. We had to stand in a crowded group and wait to go upstairs because they didn’t open it up until 2pm. We came early so we were near the front, but we were nearly trampled going up the stairs as everyone was running to claim a table. We were able to get a table enough for some of us to be able to sit down.
People started to come in later and they had to stand, and for the most part everyone understood if you’re standing, you stick to the back or the sides. Similar to how the downstairs seating, but upstairs there were only two screens to watch the game so it was even more important to follow these common morals like most people did. A group of people decided it was okay to stand right in front of where we were sitting. Now for context half of our group were black women, and one of the black women from our group asked them politely to move to the side, as no one else was standing right in the middle. The group immediately started recording on their phones and instigating our friends to do something about it. Things escalated quickly, and the other group immediately started to ask for management. The manager at the time decided to kick out all the black women from our group and no one else. The spineless group in front of us started to make faces at them as they were being kicked out, and continued to occupy the space in front of us.
Not only was this yards poorly ran during a large event, that could have quickly turned bad for those going up the stairs, and this could have all been avoided if there were more screens to watch the game upstairs. However, the worst part about this situation is how poorly management handled the situation and had clear favoritism without having any context, and it just screams racial discrimination that the black women were the only ones to...
