Went out for a quick bite. Ordered the French Onion soup, and Cubano sandwich. I'll start with the soup. It had great flavor, a traditional French onion soup, however the soup was cold. The it came out fast and the cheese was melted with some crisp on it but the soup itself was cold. Very disappointed since it had classic flavor. Now for the Cubano. It was a very good sandwich but would have been better with the pickles on the sandwich, like a traditional Cuban sandwich, rather than on the side. Places like this are why I'm happy that the alpha-party CC crowd scoffs at Northeast Philly. While the hipper than thou "ooh look at me I live in a CITY now! types flock to overrated and overpriced douche scenes in Fishtown or other flavor-of-the-month nightmares, pleasant little hideaways like this are wonderful comfort zones. This is a great hidden gem in the neighborhood. Excellent beer selection, great lunch specials, friendly & attentive staff. You could easily blow right by the place and dismiss it as another strip mall bar, but you really should pull off Grant or Academy and pop in - you'll stay for a few. And yes, get...

Was at once our weekly date night until the bartender pretty sure his name is Dave caused an issue with my husband and threw him out. This waiter has been rude every time i have ever been there would walk right pass our table and not even acknowledge us. Me and my friends were there for a girls night sat at the table right when you walk out of the bar and he still continued to ignore us.
