Danny's Wok — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Sad to say the food was awful! Awful! What made it awful as a whole was that I ordered 6 different things from off the menu and I only enjoyed 1 of them. I ordered the beef short ribs/BBQ sauce. The short ribs were awesome. They were well seasoned tender to the bone. That was the only thing I enjoyed. I ordered the buffalo wings that was drenched/overwhelmed in the sauce. They claimed it was a signature sauce but it wasn't. They added small spices to hot sauce and it tastes exactly like hot sauce! I also ordered the potatoe salad, macaroni & cheese, cabbage and sweet potatoes. AWFUL!!!! On sight I refused to put those sweet potatoes in my mouth because it looked gross! No Thanks! The cheese in the macaroni was dried out/hard and did not stick to the pasta at all. The cabbage taste like WATER!!! It absolutely had no taste to it! It did nothing for my taste buds at all!! And Lord! Lord! Lord! Lord! LAWD!!! The potatoe salad..... They added sugar people!! They added sugar to the potatoe salad and it was funny like Grits!! How in the hell is that humanly possible! I only teaspoon of each side order! One teaspoon too many!

I will never! Ever, Ever patronize this establishment again. This business is owned by Chinese! The food is cooked by Chinese! I have no problem with that! Soul Food is not about throwing some seasonings together on putting it on food that African Americans identify with!! Soul Food is about the love, flavor and time it taste to produce a great enriched flavor that makes your taste buds dance. The smell of Soul Food that greets you at the door alone welcomed you to what you are about to experience!! Love!!

This restaurant had none of that!! I couldn't smell anything soul in there!

After searching long and hard for bourbon chicken that I didn't have to go to the mall to buy. I found it on the menu at this placed, it turns out the so called bourbon chicken is actually made with teriyaki sauce. How the hell is it bourbon chicken if it doesn't have bourbon sauce. Bourbon chicken with teriyaki sauce. After reading the menu I see that most of there chicken dishes are teriyaki chickens called something else. The only reason I'm given this place 3 stars and not 1 is because the store is very nice looking and they have good customer service. but if you label something bourbon chicken it should be bourbon...

The chicken wings are so small & terribly overpriced and this may not even be a legitimate 'concern' but I found it a bit disconcerting that a place known for their chicken wings have signs indicating they are selling watermelon slices ( not fruit cups but specifically watermelon) in a primarily black neighborhood. It just doesn't sit right with me.

I gave them 2 stars however because when I previously bought the wings in bulk, earlier this year, they were not that small & my family seemed to enjoy them.

However, I am definitely in search...
