Desi's Place — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Where the real Kentuckyvannians go to drink, stink, make a fool out of themselves! How many times have I heard bars try to say they were biker bars and had to change the business just to survive. This is another place just like that and keeping with the tradition which is equally bad. It's just a long hall with a couple of booths a dartboard in the back with a back door where someone could get hit with darts and two small broken bathrooms that are never taken care of. This place is cash only and the bartender it served me was one of those stereotypical smokers from 90's cartoons like The Critic being Voice by Jon Lovett. She was very disrespectful and I'm surprised she didn't have a tracheotomy to keep with the cartoon tradition! The patrons in this place are drunk, stupid and hallucinating to the point where they think they own the bar. That's a bad combination which could lead this establishment in the newspapers for terrible reasons which I've seen multiple times before. They tried to make mixed drinks but most of their clientele just drinks a beer, then a shot, and repeating this till they end up on the floor. Many of the clientele also keep in tradition by drinking and driving, so they're a nuisance to the surrounding community! Lastly a lot of fights start in places over stupid things like jukeboxes, attire, TV programs, you're a newbie, you're not from around here, you ain't white enough for me, etc. I would just avoid this place because it doesn't pay to end up in the newspapers along the other riffraff that go to this...

I love this place. I always feel welcome. Bar maids are friendly and attentive. Im able to play any music i want, the jukebox has every song youd ever want. Beer cold, my heart is warm...what more do...

Been going there so long, feels like the show Cheers. Everyone is a friend. The bartenders are cheerful an quick to serve you. And the owner Desie is such a sweetheart, love her...
