I am a girl of many words, I can talk and type forever and usually my reviews are very long and elaborate but honestly I don't think I have enough words to explain how delicious this was but I'll still try to make it lengthy anyway Lol but the food speaks for itself!! It was yummy and authentic and the service was phenomenal, they answered all my questions, were incredibly patient and the food was affordable, I've been to very many bakeries and I will tell you, baked goods aren't exact affordable, at least not around Philly. I usually expect to spend almost $20 for three things. So after viewing the price I was left a little shell shock. Now I could go on and on but honestly I'll keep it simple, stop wasting your time and get up. Get up, try the food and see what everyone is raving about!!!!!!!
All together was order was approximately $13.50 😳😳
Egg Tarts : 10/10 😍😍 probably the best thing I've had in years
Pineapple buns: 9/10 (a little sweet and doughy so if you want want that then maybe try something else but still phenomenal)
Steamed Sticky Rice Bun : 10/10 !! (Very thick so maybe keep water handy but worth every bite)
Scallion Hot dog :10/10 (wasn't expecting to like this... But... Wow... 😍😂😍😂)
Corn bun: 8/10 (it was delicious but i was caught off guard by the fact that it was corn mixture with some kind of white...
Read moreI used to buy BBQ Pork Buns and other bakery from the owners when they delivered to NJ. My family and friends all loved the buns and other bakery items from them!
Now that they have opened Dodo Bakery in Philly, they are too busy to provide delivery services any more. Good thing it’s within half an hour drive from my house although I have to cross the bridge to another state. But for their authentic high quality Hong Kong style bakery, it’s definitely worth the drive!
The Bakery store is on quite a busy street with free parking in front or on side streets. When I came around noontime today, I found a spot right in front of the building.
Although it’s quite a small store, they provide many varieties: steamed buns, egg custards, hotdog buns, shredded pork rolls and more… They also make some hot & cold drinks, smoothies and bubble teas, even festive moon cakes and Zongzi. When I arrived at around 11:30am, many of the items were sold out already. So earlier in the morning you would have more choices.
According to what I used to order from them, I know they try to use the top quality materials to make the perfect products. So I believe everything they carry in the bakery here would be the top...
Read moreUpdated review: I no longer will be supporting this establishment. I use to love coming here everyday since I live close by. The food and drinks were good and cheap and the staff who work here are so sweet and give great suggestions. However, the owner is incredibly rude and I’ve witnessed countless times now her screaming at her employees inside the kitchen and more recently I’ve seen her scream at the staff in the front while I was inside ordering. She was also yelling at staff loading her car outside the bakery a couple weekends ago. My friends and family have turned a blind eye before since we live so close and my daughter comes almost every morning to get breakfast before school, but we cannot keep supporting this establishment or their horrible behavior to the young kids that work in the front. No employee should have to experience this at work
So glad there’s a bakery here now to brighten up the area! They carry a variety of Hong Kong style pastries and cakes as well as bubble tea. Everything I’ve had so far has been amazing and the buns are so tasty! Really good bubble tea as well. Tried their cold brew for the first time today and it tasted...
