I am a frequent flyer at June’s on Wadsworth. I usually order breakfast to take out and may have dined in 2-3 times and I always enjoyed my food. However, this week I dined in and had the worst experience. My waitress was great, and my egg whites were ok, but my potatoes (something that I tend to frequently order) were over cooked , didn’t taste good, and I couldn’t and didn’t eat them. I immediately and kindly brought this to the waitress attention.
When I asked for my check, the bill reflected the charge for the potatoes. I politely and calmly informed them I don’t mind paying the bill, but that I didn’t eat the potatoes and explained once again my reason. The male cook/owner was having lunch at a nearby booth and asked the waitress to bring my plate to him. It was quite visible that I hadn’t eaten the potatoes from my platter. He got very belligerent and began loudly cursing telling her I was a liar, almost insinuating I was just saying that as an excuse to avoid paying. Which is so far from the truth.
May I mind you, I had been going to June’s for several years and never complained or had an issue , so I was extremely surprised at his hostile outburst. I approached him and expressed my disappointment in his statement and told him I didn’t appreciate being called a liar and his outburst was unwarranted and it wasn’t the way a business owner should treat their customers.
Needless to say, I will no longer be patronizing June’s. I refuse to spend my money at a place that disrespects their customers. After all, it’s the people in the community that has afforded them to have a...
Read moreWhy do we accept this type of treatment.? How is this a thriving business? The most disturbing restaurant experience occurred today. My order was taken incorrectly by the cashier and they took no responsibility when I corrected them. Calmly told them the order was wrong. They started conversing in their language and instead the male cook completely and disrespectfully addressed me. A man raising his voice to an elder woman in a crowded restaurant. Apparently this is his normal. No one was shocked and I was advised that he does this often. I felt completely threatened by him. His crude behavior and physical aggression was uncalled for regardless of who made the error. All over an egg sandwich cooked incorrectly. No offer was made to just correct the issue. It was about them letting me know how they felt about an egg and a Kaiser roll instead of providing a good customer experience. I was refunded and left. It shows the level of hostility and animosity they have towards their customers who allow them to have a very successful business. I tend to not patronize business that hardly contribute to our community. Our money supporting them doesn’t circulate thru the community. We have to do better. Never...
Read moreI loved this place. We showed up right before they closed and they still seated us. The owners and waitress were really friendly. The service was great and fast. The plates were huge and the servings large. If you like scrapple you'll love this place because they have pork, beef and turkey scrapple. The hash browns are made with onions in them but the onions are optional. I'm on a low carb diet so didnt need the toast or potatoes. The great thing was they didn't charge for them since I didn't want them. The fried chicken, waffles and pancakes were all very good and the bacon with my meal was crispy and a large portion. My husband loved the grits. The prices were very reasonable. We ate there twice in 3 days while we visited Philadelphia. Be awre of two things. They are cash only and they close each day at 3pm. If I'm ever back in Philly I'll be going...
