Despite the main entree being good particularly the branzino at 28 dollars with the risotto was acceptable the risotto needs some work the soda has no fizz, there’s a distinct difference between a bottle of Pellegrino and seltzer water from the tap. My issue was that the server was very disingenuous with a few things. First we were seriously famished and just wanted to order food right away. She took too much time in coming over and reading the table the mood and what we wanted. We ordered and still waited for pretty much everything considering the fact that there were maybe a handful of tables inside the restaurant and a few people at the bar. Second, we wanted some bread just because we needed some food right away she stated that they just don’t do that. I thought it was in poor taste to deny a table bread it’s just sole bread they throw it out at most places. Third this was my first time here, the Atmosphere was fine the Restuarant was not busy by any standard. Our sever was nice but not attentive nor was she preoccupied with our order we waited a very long time for the food. Main courses, since we ordered appetizers first, the mussels couldn’t have been perfect but the chorizo they used in it was cheap and had an after taste they probably bought it wholesale and it was of a cheaper quality and although we were starving and had to eat it since we had no choice. I made an exception. I didn’t want to complain and try to give the place a chance since it’s new. My concern was that even after we finished the food she still didn’t come over to clear the plates. The Ragú was awful had a sweet like trate it was made with store bought sauce I can tell been too dozens of Italian restaurants so I know the difference. Overall I don’t think I’ll come back to this place. It could be a lot better there needs to be some tweaking of the drinks and your menu items. Don’t charge your customers for something you simply don’t have to begin with. I think the best thing on the e menu was the branzino but the risotto fell short of expectations. The sangria was good and she also failed to let us know right away that they had a happy hour going on until only a few minutes till 7 pm. I think that if she paid a little attention. To detail she could have up sold a lot of the things on the menu. We were there to eat as much as possible. We were hungry and ready to eat.

A cozy little Italian restaurant in the Port Richmond area. Very clean with a tasteful decor. The calamari was excellent, perfectly tender with just the right amount of spicy kick. Definitely top notch here. The mushroom pierogi were simply OK. I may be a bit picky here since I've grown up eating homemade. I make them from scratch and I've sampled pierogi all over Port Richmond. There are worse, there are better, so we can call these these middle of the road. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty. The garlic mash were also outstanding with all seasonings and flavors in perfect balance. The ribs were perfectly cooked, tender but not mushy. Very respectable and better than many I've had in the NE region of the country. My problem is that I've lived and traveled throughout the South and fancy the dry rubbed and smoked ribs of that region. Northern style ribs will rarely ever have that level of depth and complexity of flavor. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience. If you're in the area, La Roma is worth a try.

It’s hard to fathom that a bit of NYC upper east side has found Port Richmond…but here it IS! The cocktails are top shelf, works of art-nouveau, and perfectly paired with pierogies (spinach-mushroom) and octopus grilled with a warm paprika reduction, generous ahi tuna crudo lightly dressed in sesame oil finished my sampling. It’s like Uva but minus the Lincoln Tunnel, traffic, and chaos. Great music too, nice crowd. Sophisticated but not stuffy, old world European cuisine infused with a Latino flare. Impressed. Five stars. Just go and enjoy!

The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind, respectful, and attentive. The interior decorations were beautiful and the food was amazing. Every menu item Is fairly priced for such a nice restaurant and bar. We were served by Delmi. She was very kind, respectful, and offered some wonderful recommendations. The chicken empanadas served with chimichuri were delicious and the calamari was perfectly tender. The skirt steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the lobster risotto was amazing. For dessert we had the mango creme brulee and the coconut flan. Both were Rich, creamy, and delicious. Anyone looking for a quiet, cozy, romantic, upscale dining experience in the Philadelphia area should 100% make an effort to stop by whether you're a local or tourist like us. We'll be back to La Roma every time we're near the...
