The hoagies are indeed great. But the business model needs some improvement, in my opinion. An itemized receipt should be standard, and not providing that without special request suggests that all the nickel and diming that I just experienced is supposed to go unnoticed. I ordered a hoagie that I expected to cost me $9.25 ($0.25 for a few pepper pieces, which BTW included inedible fragments which should have been discarded when the cherry peppers were cut up and put into the tiny bag) and my total-amount-only credit card receipt showed a charge of $11.26. I immediately went back into the deli to question what I thought was an error. I was told that there is a $0.50 charge to use a credit card, and I did not see a sign prominently displayed at the register disclosing that. I had cash in my vehicle which I would have used, as I stated. No offer was made to cancel my transaction, which I had just made, and take a cash payment. Second, I didn't know I would be charged extra for Cooper sharp cheese. I didn't see that on the menu. However, that I would have agreed to nevertheless, so an extra $0.50 would have been okay, but the employee who took my order could/should have mentioned it. But the real kicker is that I was charged for "extra" oregano! I placed my order about 12-18" from the employee's face and I am quite sure she didn't mishear me. I don't even use the word "extra" when ordering anything! If I did want "extra" oregano, it should not have been an "extra $0.25"!! I suppose the rest of the discrepancy was tax, I guess I'll never be sure since I didn't get an itemized receipt, which should be standard for a deli store purchase. I paid for a $60 order with the same card when I was back home in October and I don't even want to think about all the questionable charges I unknowingly was stuck for. The hoagies are excellent, and Jersey Mike's is the closest thing to it where I am living now but, one thing they don't do is nickel and dime the customers for pickle chips, pepper pieces, and certainly not oregano! I don't pay a $0.50 fee to use my Navy Federal Credit Union card, either. You have plenty of customers, and probably don't care what I think but, next time I'll stick with Steve's Prince of Steaks. The cashier should have offered to re-ring my order, at the very least, the pepper scraps with core stem parts I should be refunded for, being charged for "extra" oregano is just the most absurd thing I've ever heard of. I have oregano in bulk in my cabinet and it didn't cost much, and it lasts for years. Do you charge "extra" for salt and pepper, too? How about the oil, mayo, or vinegar that I declined? Seriously, you lost my patronage and I'm sharing my negative experience with my many family members who give you their business. There's lots of competition in the area but, maybe you prefer not to...
Read moreI'd prefer to give 4.5 stars instead of 5, but I think 4 is too low. I've only ever been to the Mayfair location, so this was my first time at Woodhaven. Our Italian hoagies were quite large, as one expects from marinucci's. I really don't like Dietz & Watson meats, because it lacks flavor. But I understand that is the vendor marinucci's uses, and I've known that all along. So I can't really fault them too much. I made the decision to eat there. Rolls were a little stale, but it was also Tuesday afternoon. We got plain instead of seeded, which may have also impacted freshness (since seeded is a fad right now). Otherwise, it was a great hoagie. Gotta love the shaved lettuce and onions. Perfectly constructed hoagie, with veggies wrapped in meat. Very filling. Staff is friendly and hard working. The store front has the familiar comfortable feel of a Philly hoagie joint. It's not super close to my house, but I'm sure I'll be back...
Read moreIf you want a good Italian style hoagie in Philadelphia, you better go get that seeded roll and fresh made sandwich from Marinucci's. Thats is my hoagie go to spot in Philadelphia. They have three locations and no matter where I am in Philly, I can get me a Nucci Italian. Topped with roasted red peppers, that I prefer on the side and sharp Provolone, the freshly sliced meat make this hoagie a must. They have all sorts of hoagies but the thing about Marrinucci's is that cold sandwiches is all they make there. Your never alone because there is always other customers standing around waiting for their sandwiches. They also sell frozen Italian Stromboli that you take home, heat and eat as well as frozen steak and chicken steak that you can also cook at home. You can purchase lunch meats, cheeses and beverages. For you game day party trays, you better call Marinucci's. You...
