I've eaten at this place pretty regularly for the last few years. They typically do a good job but there have been some issues in the past. Those issues being missing items from my pick up orders. They have done a decent job at rectifying the issue.
This time is an exception.
I pickup my order and upon opening it I notice chopsticks aren't there, fine no biggie. Extra chilli sauce for my bibimbop that I special requested, fine I'll make do. But then I realized that the rice isn't with my meal. It's half of the dish.
I call and they ask me to come in to pick up the rice, I found this irksome to even ask. They then decided they would deliver it. I'm a 2 minute drive from the restaurant. It took them 14 minutes to deliver.
My food is cold at this point. I begrudgingly assemble my meal. The breaking point for me was the quality of the dish that I always get. Hard cooked eggs, blocky and inconsistent cuts of squash. This wouldn't be a huge issue if there wasn't already so many mistakes.
The part that kills me is that the restaurant was dead when I came in. There's a gentleman who appeared to be resting behind the counter while I was waiting for someone to hand me my order on the counter.
How was there this many misteps with nothing else going on.
To top it off, no decent attempt to turn a bad situation into a positive one.
The only positive I'll give from this experience is that they didn't make me return for a two dollar upcharge on the extra egg I also special requested when I came to...
Read moreIts hit or miss in 2021 but since covid a lot of restaurants are. I remember when they opened they were the big deal in area.. Probably why my fav place ever, Jannies, went out of business. I ordered from here once or twice and wasn't thrilled. The first was when they opened. i ordered an Alaska roll and got straight huge roe roll. I stopped ordering until another place that was way better made a not editable hot bad order (also since covid. Im thinking suppliers are hard to find) I just cant go back soooooo I'm back here but not by choice. The wasabi is very horseradish which I know that's what it is but other places mask it somehow. And the fish never tastes fresh. The avacacdo and cali rolls are fine. But the philly role, sake...tuna and even the spicy versions are bad. The spicy are mixed with straight mayo. I never tasted a mayo flavor in spicy rolls because I guess most places dont cheap on amount of fish? Idk. if ur in Ne philly and love sushi...u...
Read moreI started going to Mr.Sushi 5 years ago. Today the food is not the same. I had a horriable experience today. I decided to call and order my usual roll..the veggie tempura roll. Lately my veggie roll was tasting like fish...so i asked them to make sure no fish came across my veggie. The first person who answered got a short temper with me then tossed the phone to a female who was very rude to me. I wSnt even going to pick the food up but i wanted to let whoever answered the phone how unprofessional she was. When i got there i told her how i felt and my food was awful!! Veg tempura usually comes with crispy fresh green beans or asparagus. Not only was the roll absent of both ingredients but my rice was falling out of the roll and the tempura was soggy. What once use to be a great sushi restaurant has now becone a overpriced thrown together sushi joint. The desire to satisfy their customers is also mot present. I will not return back to Mr.Sushi unless they...
