Hello everyone. I ate at Ron’s several times when they had their Broad Street location and it was delicious then, and it’s STILL delicious now that they’re at their new Rising Sun location. They have good food. Carribean food is spicy (point blank). If you don’t like spice, this is not the place for you. You should know what to expect when you order Carribean food so don’t believe any nagative reviews here. Trust me, the food is good. I went to a few Carribean restaurants around the area and all disappointed me. Ron’s Carribean Food is delicious. The place is clean, the people who work there are professional, respectful people. The food is “hot” and before they place your platter in the bag, THEY SHOW IT TO YOU SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU’RE GETTING. Who does that? Nobody else. 😊 They’re not expensive and they’re not stingy with the food. They pack your platter to the fullest. Every time I go there, I already know I’ll have leftovers for the next day. Yes, they have a big parking lot where you can park for free. Before you believe some of the nay-sayers’ reviews, please go try the food for yourself and after you’re full and satisfied, you will definitely want to send me a CashApp: $Para2020. 😊 Just try it before you knock...
Read moreI’ve been going to Ron’s for probably 30 years. The food is pretty good and consistent. When I don’t feel like cooking, it’s a good option. It’s less expensive compared to fast food and better quality. I’ve also used them for catering events. I usually stick to the things I like, the fried basa, jerk chicken, rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. The fresh fried dumplings always delicious! Ron’s has come a long way. They have stepped up their customer service over the years, more smiles and professionalism and the pivot during COVID was a game changer—much better organized to get your order quickly. I have one problem, I only eat white meat chicken and they charge extra for it ($3.50 for large), and on occasion (too often for me), they get it wrong and give me mixed, white and dark meat, like they did tonight at Rising Sun. This has happened at the Broad St location, too. I didn’t notice it when they showed me in the store because it was covered in sauce. Disappointing! C’mon guys in the back! It’s not that hard!!! Also, I don’t like that they don’t answer the phone when they stop taking...
Read moreCustomer service is HORRIBLE!!! The food was ok... I was the only one in store and stood in line for 10 mins waiting to be addressed, watching the workers cater to online orders... The prices listed is incorrect... each platter comes with rice n beans and a veggie... I ordered a lg salmon platter[$14]... I did not want rice so I got mac n ch in place it was a $2 upcharge(ok) and I got cabbage and was charged an additional $2 for that(I dont know why cause CABBAGE IS A VEGGIE)... I also ordered a sm jerk chicken platter[$10], again no rice but mac n ch $2 upcharge and Cabbage $2 upcharge... so each platter it was $4 xtra and no the upcharge is not mentioned on the menu or when ordering... When I asked the ladies taking orders they start speaking in there language to each other cash me out with a receipt and said look at it...Pure ignorance and the reason I stopped going to there restaurant on Broad St... I figured a new location it should be better and nope, I was wrong... I won't be returning and will definitely will not recommend this restaurant no matter...
