Holy Amazing food Batman! Seriously...place was recommended by a friend, reviewed the menu and was very excited!!! Not only did they deliver, they delivered beyond anything I imagined. The food is simply stunning and so flavorful and tasty, it's hard to overstuffed yourself. The service from Mark and his team is absolutely 💯 . Very friendly and makes you feel like family. The apps...Eggplant stack and calamari were outstanding! I hate 🍆, but even I went back for another bite. The Calamari was so tender and lightly fried, it allowed you to enjoy the pepers and olives in magical blend of flavors. I had the Dbl cut Pork Chop...with figs and basalmic and Gargonzola...hand down the best pork chop I have ever eaten...and I'm a pork chop snob. The laddies loved the rack of lamb as well! We all want to come back and try more items...the Ceasar Salad, Mussels, Bruchetta, all looked amazing! Don't skip this place...make a reservation...and enjoy a fabulous meal! You will not be disappointed!

Everyone has a favorite Aunt or their Nonni whose cooking never fails to put a smile on their face or bring up comfy dinner table memories. That's what it was like eating here for the first time! It was a birthday dinner for my fiance. My fiance's family origins are Italian, so their hopes weren't very high! Because, nothing compares to Nonni's food! But, they were pleasantly surprised to be taken back to grandma's table once they got a few forkfuls from Scannichio's plates! The plating was pitch perfect and the specials were just that, "special"! The Broccoli Rabe and Sausage was a shared appetizer and was dangerously delicious! We fought over the scraps! The meatballs were juicy, savory and tender balls of heaven! Everyone's entree was its own show stopper! We're already planning our next family dinner for here!

Welcome or welcome back. Whether it’s your first time or not, this place makes you feel like home — except the red sauce is better than your Nona’s. My wife and I have been going here religiously for years. The food is unparalleled (don’t take my word for it, there is a reason Aaron Nola calls it his favorite restaurant in the city) but somehow the experience is even better. In short, the service is incredible. It’s not an accident that you might see the most significant people in the Phillies or Eagles organization there on a Saturday night. Be sure to ask about the purse shaped pasta or be sure to order the scungilli fra diavlo. Without a doubt the best pork chop (with fig balsamic) in the city. Beware, if you go here once you may never go anywhere else again. Long live Scannicchios!

Went last Sunday evening. Made reservations about a week ahead for my birthday. Was told we had to be out by 5:30 (reservation at 4). Decided to get there a little early so we would not be rushed. Unfortunately, their website says they open at 3:30, but they did not open their door till 4. We sat outside with quite a few other guests with the same idea. Every table was sat at once. We asked to put our apps in first, but were told we were not allowed. We finally got our order in and as our apps we chose the clams casino (good) and the balsamic glazed sausage with figs (sausage tasted a day or 2 old sitting in a pool of balsamic vinegar.) Would have been better with a lesser amount of fresh sausage sliced with a little bit of a balsamic reduction and figs. It was 5:10 and still no dinner. Said something to the blonde waitress, and she checked.... said we did not have to leave at 5:30! My husband had the pork which was good. I had the seafood pasta which had over cooked shrimp and rubbery, fishy calamari. My husband asked to have a candle in the dessert we were going to order, but the blonde waitress threw a cannoli with whipped cream all over it on our table and said it was for our troubles. No candle or nothing! Ate the cannoli, because I was hungry from a bad meal, and ordered a creme brulee, which also was covered with whipped cream! Why! Isn’t cracking though that crystallized sugar enough? I learned how to cook in Philly, and worked in numerous restaurants in south Philly and Old City many years ago. We own a restaurant and catering business, and know good food and service. Been in business 30+ years. Have enjoyed their sister restaurant in AC years ago, and was hoping it would be close. Horrible birthday experience, majority of food unpalatable, and very rude staff. Never going...

I came here from Delco with my family for mother's day along with my mother and grandmother.

Our experience was so uncomfortable unfortunately. We had such a nasty waiter named "Mark". When we first arrived Mark had asked us if we brought a bottle of wine and if we were drinking...we replied with "no." The waiter gave us an attitude and says " give me your glasses then" as we go to give all the wine glasses over, my little brother accidentally drops a wine glass and it breaks...the waiter becomes furious and rolls his eyes and starts LITERALLY "shoo'ing" my brothers hand and being completely rude to us. Needless to say that was such a bad first expression.

We wait for the waiter to come back over and he doesn't introduce himself ( I only know his name by speaking to his boss on the phone) and starts speaking real fast of what they have on the menu and then didn't give us time to even ask any questions and then walks away for another 15 minutes.

We originally were going to order the whole shabang... appetizer, meal, and desert but the waiters attitude ruined it for us. We finally order our entress and all of our entress were terrible ... Barely any sauce and tasteless... I also asked the waiter for "no garnish" and it comes out with garnish.

We didn't even complain to the waiter about our meals to be redone because of how nasty he was and we just wanted to get out.

I'm completely devastated because all I wanted was a nice experience for my mother and grandmother and it was a terrible one. I had real high hopes for this place especially because it has such great reviews.

If you go make sure you don't have "Mark " as...

First time here, I was working in the area and needed a place to have dinner , was looking for Authentic Italian food! I’m in South Philly so this place came out with great reviews which did not match up to the service that my husband and I received! Waiter was rude , stood over us huffing and puffing like we weren’t making a decision quick enough as to what we wanted! He explained the special dishes which I couldn’t understand a word of it , he spoke so fast and as if he was tired of repeating them. The food which was traditional pasta and sausage was not good meat no flavor and pasta nothing great about it! Bread coming from South Philly and all of the choices at least that should have been much better! My husband’s steak was okay a little dry and bland. I told my husband this was going to be a great choice and he well we were so disappointed! Wait staff were coming out trying to take our plates as we were still eating like we felt rushed but we were happy to leave it felt very uncomfortable like if you’re not a known regular drinking wine and hanging out spending money , then you don’t get good service! We were asked if we had brought our wine which I was working and not able to drink so she removed our wine glasses and gave us a look like you’re not drinking give me my wine glasses back! Anyway I would not come back and didn’t feel comfortable. Food was not great and service was terrible , I don’t normally make a bad review but I don’t appreciate the way we...
