I was sad and disappointed. The meal I got was listed as $17.95, after tax and tip I paid $22. I got the turkey burger combo (#6). Other menu items had listed having cheese, but the turkey burger did not, so I assumed it would not have cheese. The smoothies also were made with vegan milk. So I figured some thought towards allergens was being made. Unfortunately the salad and burger were covered in cheese, which was not mentioned in the ingredients list on the menu.
I am allergic to milk. I couldn't eat the food. I was very sad. If the item was supposed to come with cheese, then the menu language needs to be updated. You need to list all the ingredients for every menu item consistently. I chose the item that did not list any dairy ingredients and then could not eat it due to my allergies.
The smoothie though, made with almond milk, was delicious. I got the strawberry and banana smoothie, and it was very tasty and had a good texture.
UPDATE, 12/26/2024: I ended up giving the uneaten burger to someone who is not allergic to milk, and he said it was very delicious and enjoyed it a lot. I'm still sad I didn't get to eat lunch that day, but I'm glad to know it wasn't wasted and tasted as good as it looked and smelled.
In terms of atmosphere, I have no strong opinions. The choice of music was good and enjoyable, but slightly too loud so it was hard for me to communicate with the cashier, which is why I left a written review. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and patient with me stumbling through my order since I was having trouble hearing across the music. I have an auditory processing disorder due to my autism so it's difficult for me to communicate verbally when there is a lot of background noise. Slurp'd isn't unique in being difficult for me in that regard.
After I left this review, the owner went so far as to find my place of work and follow me to the bus stop on my way home so that he could offer me a free smoothie as an apology for messing up my order. I know that sounds creepy but my place of work is not so far away that it would be difficult for someone to figure out, so please don't misinterpret that as stalking. Everyone in the neighborhood sees me come and go from that building multiple times a day. He is clearly very passionate about his business and about providing healthy food to the community, which is an effort I want to support. The free smoothie offer was taken as a kind gesture. The smoothies there are very tasty so I intend to accept that offer, and given that i was told by someone who could eat the burger that it was tasty, I am raising the star review for the food. Just make sure you mention allergies at the counter, which I should have done. I was just having trouble communicating due to the aforementioned auditory processing issues that come...
Read moreThis was my first time coming in, very excited as I heard great things. Food was good I ordered a tuna sandwich and ate half, I dropped the other half off the table. The tables are too small to fit the booth and I accidentally dropped it. I asked if the chef could just remake the half especially since my full bill (drinks and other items) was $37. The chef was not willing to remake the sandwich and said “he doesn’t have time cause he has to prep”. I said well if I buy a new sandwich will he make it, and they said yes. I re-purchased the sandwich but I would have look for costumer service in this area. I was very disappointed in their response and would have liked a bit of compassion and costumer satisfaction in this areas as I was only asking for 1/2 of a sandwich which was tuna. As a new establishment you never know how one bad review or unsatisfied costumer could affect your business. You never know who you are serving, who knows who. In the future, as a new business who is working to build cliental and rapport please ensure you work to satisfy your consumers. I won’t be back even though the food was good. Costumer...
Read moreso me and my mom tried this place because of the hype! we ordered via uber eats at 12:56pm, our order didn't arrive until 3:17. before we even got the ordered, we were checking the app and chatting with our uber eats driver. around 2:55 we received a phone call saying they didn't have any more wraps for our order and they asked if we wanted buns, my number one question is why did y'all wait 2 hours to call and say you were out of buns?! upon confirmation of the order on your end, you should have called then, not two hours later. we got our food and it was COLD, sloppy, my mom shrimp burger, which was a wrap originally but they were out of wraps, had 4 pieces of little shrimp on it, FOUR!! my chicken wrap combo meal didn't come with my chicken noodle soup, everything was a mess. honestly, my first and last time i am for sure never giving this place a try again!! i'm sorry! my father owns a restaurant and there's no way we're operating like this!! the only good thing was the carrot cake. i am upset! so mad i waited this long and received what i...
