VNails and Spa — Local services in Philadelphia

Been here plenty of times with no issue. Today for some reason they were trying to up charge me for “length” on my natural nails. I was getting an overlay. While the amount wasn’t a lot, the fact they were charging it baffled me. The lady doing it was also unpleasant and condescending which lead me to get a simple set instead of what I actually wanted since she already started and I wanted her to hurry up. Im adding a picture as well because someone please show me where the “length” is that I paid for? She added the acrylic and filed it all the way down and I’m like “if my nails are this short… what am I paying for length for?” She got visibly frustrated and moved back in her chair and some other lady was trying to explain to me it’s because they had to “even it.” Wouldn’t you cut down and even before the application for the shape? I’ve been getting my nails done since I was 14, I am 27. This is literally the first time this has happened or I’ve heard of this and besides the “evening” the second lady talking about some “it’s their prices.” It’s 10:42 pm and looking at my nails again I got annoyed and needed to let this off. Besides telling me where the length is that I paid for, can someone also tell me when they start charging for length on an overlay? No tips, no super out grown nails or nothing. If you do go, go with caution. I recommend Lily or any of the younger reps. Even the guy. The one sitting closest to the register and the old lady, no. She start doing calculations in her head I started doing calculations from the prices shown… a $30 difference before adding the price of the design I...

Cute place. They let me sit with my partner while they did her nails. Wasn’t that busy on a weekend which is great for people who get overwhelmed. My partner has eczema on their hands and does a bit of cuticle picking bc of that. Not to put her business out there but I mention this bc the nail tech took her time to gently clean moisturize and oil her skin. Her skin looked like night and day. I appreciated that she took her time with my partner to leave in better shape. And was so endearing is that the woman just felt like a kind older mom. If you end up going here I hope that you don’t give these ladies any trouble bc these people are just so layed back. The location they can’t help but I assure you once you step in you can tell they put in an effort to make everyone comfortable including the staff who work in a nicely...

Really wanted to love this salon - my first experience here was amazing. Lily was my nail tech and did a great job with my gel manicure and regular pedicure, was very thoughtful and thorough. The second time I came, everything was incredibly rushed - for the same services I was in and out in less than an hour with little attention to detail, but I decided to give the place another chance. Today I had an appointment at 4pm - after waiting for 40 minutes, I asked how much longer (though I was already prepared to leave since they had wasted so much of my time). They let me know it would be another 20 minutes until someone would see me.
