I really hate to do this. Honestly, the food was absolutely horrible prison grade breakfast powdered eggs, frozen pancakes, hash-browns you get from frozen section in ShopRite, not commercial grade. I took a bite of the hash brown and brown Fryer grease puss out of the potato into my mouth, and I literally had to run to the bathroom and puke. The plates they use are plastic and not glass which you can see the old scrape marks on the plastic. It smelled it had old food stains on it. That is why you don’t use plastic you use glass. The eggs were just horrible. It smelled the bread look like it had a piece of mold on it. I’m not sure I did not eat it at the coffee shop is wrong with the coffee. They gave me creamer and it was old so I made my coffee like there was gunky stuff in it because the creamers were out of date. I am so pissed right now be on myself and then you have the bathroom door open and look at bottom of the sink and there’s slippers. There are some white slippers under the sink and used socks by the trashcan on the floor. What the hell are you doing? Do you come to this restaurant with your pajamas on and you change up in the bathroom. I don’t know if you live up top or not this restaurant is not your house. It is a place of business. You wanna open up do it right the first time.
The atmosphere is the worst there’s no pictures there’s no paintings on the wall. The floors look like of floors over at KFC they have this old counter looks like you’re at a Chinese restaurant. It has a ton of hoarding items that don’t make any restaurant sense that’s on the counters. I’m only being honest. I hate to be the bad guy because this place seems to have potential has potential and unfortunately the owners are using this place for their own game as an ATM and not caring about quality. I’m very upset that I had to spend 50 bucks here and not enjoyed a very good breakfast McDonald’s at this point would be better food than what they were offering. It is honestly the worst quality of breakfast...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Spoons Breakfast & Lunch located at 2439 S 12th St, Philadelphia, PA 19148, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
One of the first things that struck me upon entering the restaurant was its cleanliness. The entire establishment was spotless, from the sparkling floors to the meticulously organized tables. It was evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a clean and inviting environment for their guests.
Now, let's talk about the breakfast. It was beyond incredible! The menu boasted an array of mouthwatering options, and it was difficult to choose just one. I decided to try their French toast, and it was nothing short of perfection. The thick slices of bread were delicately soaked in a luscious egg mixture and cooked to golden-brown perfection. The result was a heavenly combination of crispy edges and a soft, custard-like center. Topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and served with a side of maple syrup, every bite was a delight to the senses.
The attention to detail in the preparation of the French toast was evident. The flavors were expertly balanced, and the texture was flawless. The dish was not overly sweet, allowing the natural flavors of the bread and the hint of cinnamon to shine through. It was a true breakfast masterpiece that left me craving more.
Aside from the remarkable food, the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
In conclusion, Spoons Breakfast & Lunch impressed me with its impeccable cleanliness and its ability to deliver an incredibly good breakfast. If you find yourself in Philadelphia, I highly recommend paying a visit to this establishment. You won't be...
Read moreUpdate #1 Hopefully you all read my previous review. Great spot for breakfast! So this time I thought I'd try something from their lunch menu. I had to try a Philly must. A Philly classic. A Philly staple. The cheese steak. Everyone complains about portions nowadays where you go. That's just the world we live in today, but the portion of fries, which by the way were some of the best fries I've EVER had! It taste so fresh. Hot, golden and the crispiness was on point! The cheese steak had the right amount of meat, cheese, onions and seasoning to bread ratio! Chef's kiss! The bread was toasted on the inside that had that crunch goodness to it. Come here for their breakfast! Then come back later for their lunch! You won't be disappointed! Shout out to the hostess! She was amazing! Very polite and professional!
If you’re looking for a good breakfast/ lunch eatery in South Philly, give this place a try! Food and service was great! The only reason I gave atmosphere a 4 star rating was because while I was there another customer was being obnoxiously loud. Again, not the places fault. Otherwise,...
