My kids go to a nearby school so I walk past this bakery everyday. I cannot tell you how long I've wanted to walk in and try them, I don't ever see mexican bakeries around this area. I was very excited today to finally try them! Me and my kids go in and the woman seems so annoyed that we're there. Doesn't even greet us, she just stares at us. I tell her to just give us a minute, we wanna see whats available. Very annoyed she walks off. I was specifically looking for banana cream pie, since I had seen it on their website. I asked her about it, she tells me I have to pre order. Understandable. So my kids and I pick out a few different things. The entire time she seemed more and more irritated as we ordered. As I'm paying, I'm asking more specifics about the banana cream pie. How long ahead to order, prices, ect. Every answer had attitude behind it. As we left my son makes a comment about how bad her customer service was, and my daughter agreed. If children didn't feel welcomed in the bakery then they really have the wrong person representing them. I want to think that maybe the woman had a bad day and thats why she was rude, but I also work in customer service, and thats not how you treat a customer. 2 stars just because the items I bought were okay. But sadly I don't think I would go in...
Read moreAwful customer service. The man on the phone ignored my friend until she spoke in Spanish, her first language. He was rude and condescending from the get go. We wanted to order a rosca, and the guy came up with every excuse not to help us. When we said we wanted to order, he tried to dissuade us with the fact there's a deposit. When we asked for the flavors, he said, "the regular flavors." When we told him we wanted to pick up on January 6th, he said we had to tell him what day of the week that was. While I was looking it up on the calendar, he told us we need to call back when we know what we want and hung up.
From another number, I called and got a completely different but still terrible experience. I spoke in English, and the guy told me they weren't accepting rosca orders until 3 days before Three Kings' Day. He didn't know the flavors, sizes, prices. Nothing. My friend worked in a bakery--who in their right mind would only accept orders 3 days before? A lot of bakeries as of December 26th aren't accepting orders anymore because roscas are so popular. I have a feeling if I called on 1/3, I'd be told it was too late. This was all probably an attempt to get me to hang up and order elsewhere.
Whelp, Amigos Bakery, it worked. Never...
Read moreTERRIBLE experience. I wanted to pre-order a birthday cake and it was impossible to get them on the phone, called every number I could find on Google. So instead we went into the Italian market location and ordered the cake in person 2 days ahead for a 12pm pickup. When we went to go pick it up, 15 mins ahead of our scheduled time they told us it wasn’t ready, they would need 30 mins and that it was at the other location. We went to the 12th and Ritner location to pick it up to save time and save them the trouble of driving it over. We get there and they have no idea what we’re talking about, and then say they need 30 more mins. They offered delivery but at this point they were already 30 mins behind schedule and we had to drive an hour away (no way they would deliver to West Chester). We asked them to give us whatever cake was ready and refund the difference in what we paid so they gave us a plain tres leches. The cake was terrible - so dry and overly sweet icing. Never ever again. So unprofessional, poor management, just all around a horrible experience. The only reason they got 2 stars is because we didn’t show up empty handed to our birthday...
