While I have eaten in person and have had a delicious meal, I decided to eat via Uber today and paid $50 dollars for a meal I did not receive. Not only did they not deliver the food, they gave it to another patron in the mall. I explained that the entire mall was one address and Uber has it still being prepared, To-Kai told me to walk down to see if the place that their Uber driver delivered it to, still had the meal. We did so and they said that they did not receive it. The lady from To-Kai insisted that they had it and I explained that we never received the meal that we paid for. She told me to dispute it with Uber. I did and they explained that To-Kai has their own Uber account and that when they looked into it I was correct and it was still pending. So I called To-Kai back to explain what I was told. She kept repeating they delivered it and their driver gave it to a receptionist at Wax City. I explained again for the third time the whole strip mall is the same address, but she did not budge. She said well they have it and you need to go down to them and get your food! She then badgered me with receipt to my personal phone that the driver was holding twice to my phone, that they delivered the food. I said if you can do this why wouldn't your driver call me at arrival to my cell. It said I would meet him at the door. I told her I was done having the conversation, since she refused to replace the meal or give me our money back. She then text me again with the canceled order minus $15 for the tip! Unacceptable and disgraceful customer service! I had to go thru Uber to get the credit she text me to my phone. I still never got my food or tip money back! In response to the restaurant You did say that a woman from Wax City received the food and you said she said her name was Carol Lyn. I only received $35.00 out of $55.00 back because your personal driver or the restaurant, kept the rest. We have eaten there numerous times in person. I did not put Wax City as the destination personally, it said to meet me at the door and the Uber said you were still preparing the meal an hour after the fact. On top of this you text harassed me 3 times, a receipt with the pavement as the background after someone else received and ate our food! You told me to take it up with Uber and yes they finally gave me $35 out of $55 back. Own up to the mistake and please don't attack the customer. Very Unprofessional and a...

First off, this is not a review about the food. The food is, as always, spectacular. We've been coming here for family functions and date nights for the past two years or so and the food has always been delicious. I can't speak for hibachi since we always order sushi, but their hibachi is always busy so it must be good.

This review is mostly a complaint about the service. Before coming, I had called ahead to see if my favorite and by far the best server Annie was working and was told that she wasn't working that night. No big deal, the food is still delicious, we go anyways. Our meal starts off a little rocky - used to Annie's attentive service and near eidetic memory of our food choices and preferences, we've been spoiled into not even really needing to order, and so have issues explaining to our server what we want to eat. Besides being seemingly a new hire (didn't understand when we wanted sashimi rolls vs regular rolls) which was its own set of problems, he also had a weird accent and was probably scared to make a mistake with his manager (I think? She was the only one with a little dongle hanging from her shawl) staring at us from a few feet away so kept double checking and repeating everything to the point of annoyance. Not a good start to the kind of relaxing and delicious dinner we normally have with Annie. Our food actually came out pretty on point, so he didn't need to worry. Just minor things that we don't even remember to say anymore since Annie usually just takes care of it - like my husband's dislike of scallions or my preference for the super spicy mayo. For some reason he was also constantly refilling or asking if we wanted to refill our water - he REALLY wanted to keep us hydrated, apparently.

Anyways, my biggest complaint of the night came when another server recognized us and came over to say hello - and told us ANNIE NO LONGER WORKS THERE. As in, not "wasn't working tonight," but "not working here ever because she quit." My husband and I both found it pretty pathetic they felt the need to blatantly lie to us over the phone and we ended up leaving on a rather sour note, especially now that our favorite sushi spot is missing its...

Desperate times call for desperate measures!!! Good thing To-Kai was not a desperate measure.

Here’s the backstory: a group of 10 out of towners noobs booked an airbnb relatively in the area. Our best friend (@ayy_bendito) got booked to play a gig in the hood. We ignorantly made a dinner reservation at a Mexican restaurant in center Philly not realizing how far away it was. If we were to go to our original destination we would have missed our friends set because of travel time. Which would have made this whole trip pointless. We had no choice but to cancel the reservation an hour before we were supposed to go. It’s hard to find a last minute reservation for a group of 10 on a Saturday. There was a possibility that we could have starved. Good thing To-Kai was here to save the day!

Menu is huge. There is something for everyone. If someone can’t find something to eat here, their palette is obsolete. My friend was super excited to find that they had a Philadelphia delicacy on the menu: scrapple! Specifically duck scrapple baos. He paired it with a Ramun soda and was literally in paradise. I’m more simple. I got the Trio Sushi Dinner. I was satisfied and not starving.

Out of the group of 10 of us only one of my friends had a complaint. My friend who ordered a margarita did not enjoy it at all. He is of Latin decent and is a margarita connoisseur. The margarita here didn’t live up to his Latin standards. Which is a fair statement to make. He loved his sake though.

Bonus points: my friends dog is named Kai. Kai is a very good dog. He must know the...

My boyfriend and I went for the first time on a Wednesday night! Service was great and all of the food came out super fast. Our dishes were huge. We were impressed. Halfway though eating my boyfriend found a long metal staple in his rice, we informed the staff so they could avoid feeding it to anyone else. The waiter was very nice and asked the manager to discount our meal and she gave us our couple dollar appetizer free. Considering both of our meals were over twenty dollars and the sharp staple could have pierced through any part of his digestive tract that was not fair compensation. Today I have awful food poising and the only thing him and I didn't share was the chicken. The chicken was likely undercooked as that was the last meal I had of the day. Overall, it started really good but ended horribly. We will never be going back as it is a safety risk!

My first restaurant experience in the USA. It was decent. For me, it was not a high-end fine dining place that I often go to. There was nothing negative in my experience. Let me get on with it... Positives: 1. Good food. No complaints at all. We were 3 adults and a child, we ordered salads, sushi, Fish Branzino, all of them were good. 2. Ambiance: correct. Not loud. A little cramped for space. 3. Correct service. More hospitable than any French restaurant that I have been to! 🙄🙄 Service is also fast. 4. Correct pricing Negatives: 1. As I was saying, maybe a little cramped for space. 2. A little overboard with the mood lighting. But then that is a personal taste. I reckon there would be people who may prefer it. I do not. Do I recommend it? Will I return? If I'm in the area, if I'm looking for good fish, or if my partner is looking for sushi, why not.
