If you want to wait 45 minutes for a coffee and a sandwich this is the place to try. There’s no “service”. Everything is ordered on a big screen or online, and online orders are clearly prioritized over in person orders. There is no urgency. Staff calls out orders with zero volume. Nobody know what’s going on. The line of anxious coffee addicts grows. Their thirst must be quenched, but when?
My “hot” coffee is cold, my girlfriend is pissed. Im an hour late and I’m hungry. I feel like I’m loosing my mind. What is taking so long? …. We’re now coming up on the hour mark. Apparently they are understaffed today, but still, it should not take an hour for two coffees and a sandwich.
There have been several people who clearly ordered online that have gotten their food ahead of me. I’m really frustrated. Will not be coming back.
Not staffs fault. They clearly have an automated system that cares more about maximizing profit than the customer experience.
I’m so tired of investors thinking that they can make a business aesthetically look like it is locally owned in order to mask, corporate greed, and lack of care for the customers in patron to keep the business afloat and line their pockets.
Pay your staff enough so they’re willing to show up or close down your coffee shop.

It’s been an hour and a half. I spoke to the people working. They were apologetic. I am late. Did not get my sandwich. I’m hungry and in a really bad...

Unfortunately Unity Java is in its downfall era 😭 every time I go here no matter the time of day, it’s slammed with mobile orders/Doordash. I waited like a half hour for my breakfast sandwich this morning. It’s not the employee’s faults but PLEASE get a second oven or another more efficient way of making breakfast sandwiches! This could even include turning off the ability to order sandwiches if it’s too busy/will be an unreasonable amount of time to wait. The drinks come out super fast, I just can’t recommend ordering prepared food at this time. The pros: they just upgraded their seating and there’s way more tables/chairs that are comfy and good for getting work done or reading a book. I hope to be back when yall fix the breakfast sandwich issue!
delicious coffee and sandwiches for a pretty inexpensive price, supporting a great message/organisation :) vegan options are plentiful and they don’t charge for alternative milks, which is so nice. My partner and I go there often and it averages out to 20ish dollars for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches. we love having this cafe in the Wissahickon neighborhood...
Read moreI love the idea of this coffee shop and what they stand for. I especially like that they have a community fridge. The coffee is decent too. I got a white chocolate mocha with oat milk and it changed my life.
I would give it 5 stars if they changed their layout and furniture. Currently, it's giving "coffee shop under a luxury apartment complex." I wish it felt cozier and had more tables to do work at--though it does have a little bar you can sit at with a laptop. Their outdoor space also needs a little TLC. It's small so I'm not sure how much they can do with it, but it could use an umbrella and some landscaping. Maybe a few bistro tables instead of one large picnic table.
Ordering is also kind of odd. You don't talk to the baristas; you just poke at the screens in front of them. The program isn't that intuitive. Maybe I just need to get with the times though.
Again, overall great concept, the execution of the community vibes needs some tweaking though in my opinion. The layout/furniture and the way that you order just doesn't feel very...
