Wiss Bar — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Our bartender was friendly and fast. Only a handful of patrons occupied the Bistro. In all fairness, it was early. The atmosphere was enough to say, I would visit again, possibly. Although, I doubt I would order food. The menu was much smaller and different than I expected. Bar food menu, with several different burgers to choose from, 3 other sandwiches, fries, wings. Standard menu. My dinner choice was a burger with bacon jam. Sounded delicious. Not saying I was disappointed, it was good. Nothing to write home about though. The fries were good also but they are crinkle cut. Neither of us were impressed by the serving size of our sandwiches. Both of us wanted something else to eat after...

I love great service and this bar seems to cater to the locals. So for locals this is a gem. We waited about 25 minutes for chicken wings and fries. Even though the wings were really good, it was the longest I've ever waited for a simple dish. We were about to walk out b/c the food took way too long, but the bartender and her excellent service, attention and vibrant personality made the place. My favorite neighborhood bar. I love the people, the atmosphere, the games, the drinks, the food, the owner, and the bartenders. Not a single thing that I would change about Wissahickon Bar and Bistro. The drinks are very reasonably priced ($5 daily special mixed drinks and $5 city sides are unbeatable and tasty!) Come out for Karaoke every last Thursday...
