Truly, a Wawa that does everything right.
Like just about everyone in this state, I’ve been to a lot of Wawas. I make frequent trips up and down the East coast so I’ve been to more Wawa’s than I care to remember. Yet I have never felt the need to write a review because it’s just Wawa.. they’re all the same. At least so I thought.
This place stands out as the single best Wawa I’ve ever been to and I plan on making it the Wawa I visit every day on the way home. It was clean, well stocked and wonderfully staffed. The employees were both efficient and attentive which made the trip smooth and allowed me to get exactly what I wanted in a timely manner.
However not even all of that is why I’m writing this review. It’s wonderful and makes it a place worth visiting, but what truly moved me was the acts of one employee. A wonderful and graceful young lady named Sommer who was working in the deli portion of the store. The order before mine was a very entitled couple with a small child who were constantly sneering and making harsh, baseless comments as if expecting Sommer to mess up their order. However she handled the borderline hostile and unbecoming situation with grace and kindness you don’t normally see in any retail store, yet alone a convenience store. When the couple didn’t get the fight they were looking for, they made one last snide comment about nonsense and left. Truly she handled it in a way that I as a bystander wanted to clap for.
Then as she began to prepare my food, she did so while keeping small talk with my busybody self and giving me a pleasant conversation as she kept focus on making my order so I wasn’t stuck waiting. I appreciate the entire experience and it left a memory in an otherwise standard and normally forgettable trip to Wawa we all know.
So thank you Sommer, you’re the ideal example of a star employee and I wish you all the best.
P.S. It was a wonderful sandwich, the experience made it...
Read moreI’ve been a member of this community since the early 1990’s and been someone who would always stop at this store for gas morning coffee, breakfast, lunch and even dinner when needed. My last experience was my final time dinning or even purchasing gas or a beverage. To make it brief, while picking up my food (which was paid for) I needed to go back in line to make another purchase. I advised my brother who is 30 years of age went into line for due to my disability. The purchase was for gasoline and cigarettes. When purchasing my brother realized that his physical copy of his license was not on him. He attempted to you use his apple wallet which they did not allow. I then tried to use my identification card and was denied. All my credentials were valid but was still turned down. The woman at the counter was being rude at this time, and truly was rude the first purchase. I had noticed the treatment I received was very disappointing and different then the other customers in the store. Unsure of how to receive and digest the circumstances I chose to leave. I don’t want to imply it was due my disability or my ethnicity. Wawa staff please do better to...
Read moreI have had several issues with this Wawa. You might ask so why do you keep going back? Because it's close to my house lol. This time I had a reward for free any size lced or hot latte. My daughter was outside already so I ordered it thru the app for her to pick it up. When she picks up stuff for me i send her a screen shots of the order so its no issues. However, the Wawa app does not allow you to screen shot it for security purposes..really Wawa you are not a bank. So she went in and they said it wasn't paid for Huh??? She calls me and I again attempt to get a screen shot...still not allowed. In the background on the phone I hear the employee saying they have to scan the reward. Um can't do that since it was added to online order, reward is now gone. I had to take a pic of my phone on another phone to send her the screen shot showing it was paid for (even tho it was free). I do all of that only to realize that the sticker on the drink says 3 TIMES THAT ITS PAID IN APP. SO SICK...
