Dottie’s Donuts — Restaurant in Philadelphia

Heard so many great things about Dottie’s Donuts and unfortunately my donuts were not good.

Firstly, the shop itself was warmer than 80 degrees. It was hot in there. I got 3 donuts - vanilla sprinkle, oreo and blueberry for $10 (kinda pricey). As you can see, the vanilla sprinkle left a lot to be desired. There was no vanilla frosting and a couple of sprinkles? It was also very chewy… odd.

Maybe this location had an off day but I was confused as to how this place has rave reviews when it was quite literally the worst...

First time trying this donut shop. Found it by looking up donut shops in the area other than the big chains. Didn’t realize they were Vegan not that would make a difference cause I’ve eaten a lot of Vegan restaurants that were good. You do spend more on a dozen donuts here assuming it’s because of the alternate ingredients. Donuts were ok. I think this is a cute cozy spot for vegans, but if you are not vegan, what you will get is a good (but not excellent) tasting classic donut for about $3 a pop. Flavors are delicate, so opt for boston creme to get more out of your experience. But no point in spending $48 (this is what a dozen assorted varieties cost me) to please a family gathering. Some grocery stores in our area are actually quite good a making decent pastries and are a bit more price friendly than Dottie's. Service...
