Embraced by riverside tranquility, The Landing Kitchen offers more than just a meal; it provides a serene escape where the food is as delightful as the view. This all-day café marries local ingredients with inventive flair, resulting in a menu that's as fresh as the morning dew.
Upon arrival, the indoor/outdoor setting immediately sets the stage for a dining experience that feels both intimate and invigorating, much like a picnic by the water--if your picnic was catered by an award-winning chef/restaurateur duo. The service here matches the scenery, with a side of smiles as sunny as the eggs on your plate.
Let's dive into the menu, where the stars of our meal were the TLK Breakfast Sandwich and the TLK Burger. First up, the breakfast sandwich, a morning melody of maple chicken sausage, farm egg, cooper sharp cheese, and a zesty salsa verde that wakes you up better than your morning alarm. This isn't just a sandwich; it's a wake-up call to your taste buds, proving that breakfast really is the most important meal of the day--especially when it sings with such flavor.
Then there's the TLK Burger, a masterpiece sandwiched between sweet potato buns that could easily be the breadwinner of any culinary contest. Topped with Calabrian aioli that adds just the right amount of kick, dill pickle for a crunch that echoes through the soul, and American cheese melting into every nook and cranny, this burger doesn't just satisfy your hunger; it embarks on a quest to conquer it, leaving no taste bud unturned.
While The Landing Kitchen effortlessly earns its stars for both its vibe and its mouthwatering menu, it's the spirit of the place that truly sets it apart. Here, the passion for good food and community comes together in a symphony of flavors and experiences that resonate with the soul. It's a reminder that sometimes, the best culinary adventures are the ones that feel like coming home--assuming home comes with chef-prepared delights and riverside views.
In short, The Landing Kitchen is more than just a café; it's a destination. A place where the beauty of nature meets the art of cooking, inviting you to land, stay awhile, and savor every moment. Whether you're here for the sunrise with a sandwich in hand or the sunset with a burger to bid the day goodbye, you're in for a treat--a delicious reminder of what happens when passion...
Read moreWe decided to try a new place for brunch. The Landing Kitchen is a fantastic site along the riverside at the Ironworks and shares a parking lot with a hotel next door. We ordered the TLK Breakfast Sandwich, The Iron Worker, Cafe Au Lait, and an iced coffee. The sandwiches came on a small serving tray. The TLK Breakfast Sandwich (pictured individually) contained a nice and tender chicken sausage patty with an overeasy egg, Cooper sharp american cheese, and salsa verde on a potato roll. The Iron Worker, on the other hand, had a single slice of dry pork roll with an overeasy egg, a slight spread of green tomato preserve and a slice of american cheese. We can say that the Iron Worker was not worth it compared to the TLK Breakfast Sandwich. We would not recommend the Iron Worker.
The quality of the sandwiches along with the service that we received does not make the price worth it. You need to bus your table after eating and when we sat down we needed to wipe our table down as there were crumbs from the previous customer.
The setting itself is very spacious and contains ample seating; both indoor and outdoor. There are a few board games available for families to enjoy while eating. When it is nice outside, there are outdoor activities set up such as cornhole, ping pong and more. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend this...
Read moreSo disappointed. I used to love this place and went for the first time in a while. First, the good: the staff is really nice. They work hard. The atmosphere on a sunny day can’t be beat.
However. I ordered a $13 “spinach and artichoke grilled cheese” and a $14 “falafel sandwich”. While the grilled cheese tasted good, it was basically a paste on white bread. Barely any veg. It was served totally plain on a plate - not a chip, a piece of lettuce, a pickle slice (I did note a $4 pickle being sold and bags of chips available). I’m sorry but for $14 that either needs to be gourmet with nice pieces of artichoke inside and visible spinach leaves, or come with some sides. It tasted fine but it was basically a kids meal.
The falafel sandwich was so weird. Crusty over fried falafel party on a brioche bun (??). It was dressed with mayo and coleslaw which made no sense. This isn’t a lobster roll, it should’ve been on pita. It was also served bare on a plate, and while it had a few toppings, also an egregious price for what it was.
Had either one been $9 and plain, fine. Had either one been better and come with a handful of chips and a pickle slice (or whatever), fine. But the value just isn’t here. I’d rather purchase a soda, sneak in a picnic and enjoy the ambience— I won’t do it, but if people do, they’re going to lose money fast. Need to...
