There are so many breakfast reviews for The Dizzy Hen but we had heard rave reviews about the dinner menu from family members so we decided to try it for dinner first. I love restaurants that serve multiple smaller dishes rather than one bigger dish and that is what this place does for dinner. We ordered four dishes plus dessert between the two of us and it was the perfect amount to be pleasantly full.

This is one of those places where the menu lists ingredients that seem unusual to pair (carrot salsa? Lentils with pasta?) but then you take that first bite and it tastes so incredible you wonder how you have never thought to combine them! The flavors and textures of every dish were fantastic. The focaccia bread is exactly what you want it to be like but rarely ever find (so tender in the middle and crisp on the outside but not so crisp that it scrapes the roof of your mouth, easy to bite into while holding its shape with toppings on it—perfection)! My favorite dishes were the carrot salsa focaccia and the strawberry rhubarb crumble. My husband really loved the handmade pasta with lentils and pesto and we both liked the fried chicken which was so crisp but not dry and paired with the yummiest sauce. It truly felt like each dish was very well thought out and prepared with the best ingredients, we loved it.

The staff was delightful, the decor was so unique and fun, I felt inspired for my own home. Thank you for the lovely...

Every once in a great while you stumble across something really unique and special. The Dizzy Hen is definitely in that category. Many restaurants do a great job and deserve a four or five star rating. This place goes well beyond those expectations and really deserves 10 stars. Anyone who has dined here knows exactly what I'm talking about.

It's not just the incredible food at a great value, but it's the whole vibe of the place. Everybody is just so kind and welcoming even though it's a hustle and bustle environment from the time you walk in, to the time you leave. So much love and care for not just the food, but for their staff and the customers. The owners are truly remarkable people to offer such high quality delightful meals at incredibly low prices as well as having a staff that works so well together and love their jobs.

I have never met John who mans the kitchen, but if he is anything like Hattie, I'm sure he is very kind and capable. Consistently putting out great food at a great value in a very very welcoming environment. This place rocks!!!

Thank you John and Hattie for your love and dedication to hospitality. It truly made our day better...

There is a wait for a reason folks! THE FOOD IS OFF THE HOOK! Be prepared to wait if you are coming on the weekend. COME HUNGRY or share! The portions are generous and the food is so so good, you will want to push yourself to finish it all. Remember they do have "to go" boxes, these boxes are your friend! lol I personally have a problem with branching out from the Dizzy Hen breakfast. I have recently (I made friends with my nextdoor dinner at the counter) I swapped a biscuit (hard to believe, I know) for half of an english muffin. OMG, we both were so happy we did this! So, ya might want to consider sharing/swapping with a friend or a new friend at the counter. That way you do get to try it all.

This a a gem of a restaurant! The people also make it THE BEST! experience. My hats off to the chefs/bakers/servers, you are the reason when I land back in town I head straight to you to eat! Not to mention I brag about the food I eat here to my foodie friends in SmellLA. We should plan a field trip for them... then again, I am happy to keep it to myself, I want my seat at the...

I meant to take a picture before I started eating, but alas, I could not control myself and immediately dove into the pork ragu. Though I challenge any man worth their salt to resist the alluring aroma of any dish at the Dizzy Hen, I dare say it is not possible. Even while I write this review, I am shoveling spoonfuls of yummy grits in between words. I also applaud the queer friendliness at the Dizzy Hen. The restaurant is any queer couple's dream manifested. My only complaint is that the menu was written in all lower case letters. What's up with this new typological trend? What did the upper case ever do to deserve this? Regardless, I will be coming back to the Dizzy Hen as often as I can and you should too.
