Vinwood Taphouse — Restaurant in Philomath

Family friendly joint with "okay" bar food if you have excess time to burn. I suspect the bulk of the folks we saw here were regulars - that's the feeling I got from interactions I witnessed and the overall vibe. The menu doesn't offer a lot of options to make gluten free, so I ordered a burger without a bun. It was served up on a beautiful bed of lettuce but when I asked for a fork they were all dirty. I started on my tater tots hoping a fork would emerge (even if it was to-go ware) and finally had to make a wrap out of the lettuce. With two bites left, I was finally offered a fork. I did encounter a new (to me) cider here that I really enjoyed and even sought a six pack of it from the grocery store later. I would go here again if I needed to eat and had lots of extra time and had only fast-food options otherwise, yet I'll be exploring other options around the area before I return for more than...

We have frequented Vinwood at least twice a month for the last 3-4 years. In the past, the ambiance, service and food was really good. Unfortunately, we will be taking a break and waiting a month or two before we try it again. The last 3 visits the service has been slow, even in less than peak times. Yesterday, my husband ordered the special which was fish tacos - something I've ordered in the past. The fish didn't taste like fish and looked like it had been in a freezer for a long time. I was really hesitant to try this place, because of the hit or miss reviews but I’m really glad I did. The beer was really great, and the bar food was perfectly good. The staff was really friendly and showed us the additional seating on the back patio which was super cute!!

The only downside was that the service was a bit inattentive. Still got us what we needed and was very nice, but didn’t come back to check on us really. In our case, it was fine because we were happy with everything. But could definitely improve — especially if other customers weren’t as easy going as us. Would still highly...
