9/21/24: Excellent food, service, and ambiance. This was our third visit but apparently I never did a review so let me remedy that right now. Adela's is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. There is ample parking and although it's a small place, the experience is mighty (as it was the other two visits). The woman who sat us at the table and took our drink order was so friendly, as was our server, Pedro. Both had nothing but smiles on their faces every time they popped over. There is a patio but no one was out there, and I was unable to tell if anyone was even allowed out there. They brought wonderful bread to the table after the cocktails were delivered. The spiced mojito and nutty uncle Vinny were tasty. The bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms appetizers were so good, we could have eaten more for our meals. The bruschetta was not toasted bread, which we both prefer. Our meals were cheese ravioli in pest and pollo al limone. Everything came out hot and delicious. Because of the appetizers, we both had leftovers and even the day after, the meals remained delicious. To top off the evening, we opted for the Italian chocolate mousse. Oh boy oh boy oh boy, was it velvety and tasty. If you have not tried Adela's, you are missing out.

We live in Tempe but due to a house fire are living in Chandler until our house is rebuilt. Woke up Saturday wanting to spend a nice dinner with my sweetheart. Went online to check out some fine dining places in Tempe, Chandler, Ahwatukee, etc., until I realized I was wasting my time... just go to Adela's in Phoenix! We entered and immediately felt at home. Ordered a great bottle of wine... fresh hot bread & butter was brought to our table. Ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms as a starter... couldn't help but soak up the extra sauce with our bread! Gorgonzola Salad & Insalata alla Calbrese were next... neither one of us could stop raving about the salads! Entrees arrived... Lobster Ravioli for her... Vitello alla Sorrentino for me... and each was delicious! It was a great date night!

Adela's is a very wonderful, mom and pop Italian restaurant in Central Phoenix maybe the Camelback East neighborhood. Their food is delicious their portions are ample, their services great both Jason and Stephanie are very attentive! Their prices are reasonable, as a plus their bathrooms are very well maintained in the paintings make you feel like you're back in Italy. So far my guests and I have had the mushroom appetizer, shrimp Caesar, gorgonzola salad, pollo Genovese, baked ziti, fettuccine Alfredo, lobster ravioli and pappardelle carbonara (not all at one time or course). They also give you fresh, hot garlic bread. I only wish I had taken more pictures. Don't miss out, Adela's is a gem!

Do NOT choose Adela's for your italian fix! Food was okay, service was okay. We were the only customers & we chose to sit outside. We had a "party" of 6. 3 adults & 3 children. My son & I are visiting from out of town & I intended on paying for everyone, as I invited our family (hosts) out to dinner. My nephew insisted on paying for their 2 little ones, as he was unsure what they would eat, and with the dishes being more pricey, insisted. So he asked the waitress to split the checks. I sent my card & she came back with the receipt to sign. I saw she charged an extra $20 & explained the gratuity for 6 or more. I have no problem with paying gratuity, as I always tip based on service - which was fine, except the fact that she never offered any refills - we all had water - and we had to take our hot plates from her when she was "serving" and we had to hand the empty dishes to her - while some of us were still eating. However, she also took a gratuity from the children's bill! Never once communicating that this double-gratuity charge was forthcoming! Again, I have no qualms paying gratuity, but feel it was extremely poor taste to take a double-gratuity without letting us, the customers, know! And honestly, if she had communicated this would happen when my nephew explained to her his children's meal being separated, I would have given her a larger tip for letting me know before we even ordered, as opposed to taking it to deal with our unsatisfacation after the fact! We walked away feeling as if they were hard-up for the money, since we were the only customers the entire time! We will absolutely NOT be going back, and we ABSOLUTELY do NOT recommend anyone else going there as well. Food was just 'okay' and service was 'okay' as well - but as a whole, feel like we were stolen...

We ate here based on the current 4.6 stars rating, and were incredibly disappointed.

The service was perfect, no issues with that. Everyone who came by our table was helpful and friendly. We were seated promptly and served quickly. But the food was bland and tasteless, plus didn’t seem to be cooked properly.

The complimentary bread was dry and almost gritty - it seemed like possibly something that had been thawed from frozen? It was seriously the worst bread I have ever eaten, nothing like normal bread, and certainly not the kind of French or Italian bread you’d expect at an Italian restaurant to be served with olive oil.

One of us ordered cheese raviolis with pesto. The pesto sauce tasted more like a cream sauce with a tiny, weak hint of pesto and cheese, and the raviolis were a little undercooked so the edges were a bit doughy. The other one ordered baked ziti, which was okay, but seemed like it may have been microwaved rather than baked. The cheese was mostly but not entirely melted, the noodles were a little overcooked, and the sauce was bland.

We needed to be somewhere so we didn’t have time for them to do anything about the food, plus considering how it tasted it didn’t seem likely that a replacement would be better. So to be fair, we didn’t give them a chance to address our dissatisfaction, and maybe they could have if we had.

I will probably not try this...

This place is perfection. This is my second time coming here (truly to make sure it was as good as I remembered) and it is still fantastic! I ordered the Shrimp Fettuccine all' Alfredo, a Caio Bella cocktail, and a side of bruschetta.; My fiance ordered Pollo al Limone and an Adela’s Caffe. The alfredo reminds me of the Bertolli brand but 10x better. It is lightly salted and peppery, while the shrimp in of itself has bold flavors of butter and salt. Portions are huge so you certainly won’t be leaving hungry. The bruschetta is juicy, kinda sweet and savory. The bread is soft with a nice outer crunch, while the tomatoes are blended perfectly with onions and spices. Truly the best I’ve ever had. The cocktail was quite strong in its grapefruit flavoring so you definitely know you are drinking alcohol, though it still holds a balanced sweetness. The table bread I’d say is fairly plain with hints of garlic, but the table butter: Ohmygod I would just eat that stuff all day. If you love salted butter you will love this. The chicken pasta has a very strong lemon initial taste that fades into the chicken’s pepperiness. Very tangy if you are into bold flavor. The coffee reminded my of hot chocolate but has a crisp I think hazelnut espresso aftertaste. I love this place and will continue...
