Not impressed with this location. Been here 2x now and have been let down each time for different reasons. I absolutely love the food at Brushfire and my experiences at the other location on Thunderbird and 75th have been great. Here though, quite the contrary.
Today, I stopped in just after 1 pm so what many would still consider lunch. I ordered a burrito and some tacos. Amidst my placing the order, I heard the cook complain he had to “work” and fire up the grill for some shrimp. Then, the person taking my order couldn’t figure out the POS system and proceeded to completely disregard my request for salsa on the side (none in bag). Additionally, this individual put guac and queso on my burrito despite me specifically requesting otherwise and him notating it on the order/receipt.
In all, it took about 20 minutes for a very simple lunch order and I was the only customer to come and go during this time. To top it off, they’ve added a 10% surcharge for inflation so I not only had to essentially tip these people for not giving me what I ordered and there was no mention of it anywhere in the store or by the employee, just a note on my receipt. Suffice is to say, I will be sure to go out of my way to visit the other location before returning to this location ever again. VERY...
Read moreI was excited to find this hidden location. First, it's not something you'd spot from any road. And the signage is almost non-existent until you reached the parking lot. But once you make your way behind the church, you're greeted to ample parking and a very quaint patio seating.
The food is tasty and there is variety. Want a meat, like chicken or steak, you got it. Want the vegetarian side of things, you got it. Make your selection a meal and add a choice of tapas like empanadas filled with chicken or maybe an order of fried shrimp en Fuego.
Just because it's hard to find doesn't mean you can't find a hidden gem in this place.
Don't go too late throughout the week as they close at 2 most days. But Saturday is a great day to take the family and grab dinner until 7. If you miss your chance head down the road to the 83rd ave and Thunderbird location to...
Read moreFirst off this place is located behind a church and is pretty awkwardly located. Once we found it, the inside looks really nice and clean.
I got a steak and pork taco along with some steak "fries" and a horchata.
The food was decent. It had great potential. I just think the crew in the kitchen was struggling a bit to execute the food and service together.
The tacos were pretty decent. Pork had great flavor. The steak "fries" were actually just seasoned red potatoes topped with steak, guac, spicy mayo, and pico. They were actually the best part of my meal.
The horchata definitely does not seem homemade like they claim. It tastes like it's from a powder or concentrate.
I will come back another day, maybe to another location...
