1st time there. Food was delicious and seemed very authentic. Dining room and bathrooms seemed clean and pleasant. The eggplant soup is AMAZING!! Highly recommend. We were also warmly greeted by all the people who worked there (I’m assuming they also own and run the place). We also received a complimentary small bowl of lentil soup and a complimentary dessert sampler. My only real complaint is that the process of ordering what you want is confusing and they didn’t explain anything to us about how it worked. I believe I ordered a plate and it said it came with a salad and 2 appetizers. So, I assumed that meant a regular Greek salad and then you choose 2 appetizers. What I found to be true is you choose the salad, which they consider tzatziki sauce as a salad apparently. I think the whole process could be much more streamline, if there was more explanation. There were also two younger girls (who I assumed were the owner’s/workers’ daughters) who kept coming up to our table. They were both as cute as can be, however they kept messing with my 16 month old sitting in a high chair at the end of our table. The older girl hit my baby in the head (not hard- it didn’t hurt him) but it made it difficult to enjoy our meal since I was constantly trying to guard my baby from the older girls who kept trying to “play” with him while we were eating. The younger girl kept trying to give my baby gum, money, juice we didn’t pay for, and small doll shoes that he could easily choke on. I suggest the parents of these kids maybe keep a closer eye on them. One more small complaint is they don’t offer free water (no water cups). I can understand that if there’s a history of people getting water cups and filling them with drinks that are not water, but I feel like that’s just a risk you have to take as a restaurant to be able to offer that to your customers, especially in such hot Phoenix heat. Overall a good experience and I would...
Read moreI was checking out Angie's Lobster there in the parking lot when I spotted them. I'm always ready to check out a new Med place. It did not disappoint! The dining area was clean, open and bright. Their kitchen is also completely open to view for the patrons. The restroom matched the dining room, no shortcuts there.
First off, it's family-owned and operated. Husband and wife were both extremely hospitable throughout my visit. Very helpful with both recommendations and a couple of tastings. The plate meals are a fantastic deal, as I see others have pointed out.
I went with the tender beef shwarma. They had three different styles of rice to choose from, a plain white, a seasoned yellow, and a pilaf that may have had some other grains with it. All were quite tasty. I love their tabouli, which was nearly dry...not drowing in lemon. Dolmas were delicious. New for me was a side of roasted tomatoes and eggplant which I believe was ca lled 'Tebzi'. Baba Ganoush was perfect with their large, fluffy bread. Lastly, on of the best pieces of baklava I've ever had.
Consider me a Be-Back, because I will when I am in the...
Read moreI was looking for Iraqi restaurant near by because i wanted to try this for the firs time and being a Food Critic and someone who has had dream to open a Global Food Chain i can say that this place is worth trying. Few things that i will say about this place which people should consider.
Owners of the place have a nice smile and they greet well. Place is clean and has nice ambience looking at other places in Arizona. I ordered Chicken Plate and the food was fresh. I really liked the soup that was given to me as complimentary
Looking at the price point a complete plate for $16.99 is worth when you get authentic food.
Only suggestion -- If you want to grow your business then do try a little fusion with a little Customized Sauce of Mango, Chilly, Salt, Cilantro on the side. This is for those who want spicy food and the blend of Mango in the sauce will give them a nice taste and hit...
