OCT 26 2023: On a whim, decided to give this place another shot. UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT! SPICY beef - Hardly any flavor or SPICINESS , TONS of green bell Peppers. Kung Pao chicken - bland, ZREO spiciness. Lo Mein tasted bland and maybe a little on stale side. Egg rolls - (Price went up) Tasted like the frozen ones you can get from like Walmart. Outside wrap thick, chewy. Bland. Crap Puffs - Taste was different if any and not worth what they charge now...$1 each from 8 for $4 & change. Also now charge for extra sauce on the side....less than a cup for $2.
NOT AT ALL what it use to be and now with price 📈⤴️, not with it. It's a shame. That place was our FAVORITE go to bedsides the one on 7st and Maryland (since 1999).😢💔⚰ Changed to 3 stars back in June. Now 🚫
UPDATE JUNE 2023: The Crab Puffs filling is now 1/4 - 1/3 to what they used to be...depending on how "dry" they are or how long they've been sitting.😒
Co workers told me about Chen Wok and so my family, visiting relatives friends have been going to the Chen Wok chain since 1999. First to the one at 7th St. & Bethany and then to the 19th Ave & Northern about 3 years ago.... We've ALWAYS been pleased with the service, people, atmosphere and food. Worth the drive and price for us. Recently, however, the 19th Ave location has been....sorry but...a let down. Portions are smaller, some dishes changed its ingredients like bigger cuts of zucchini, THICK cuts of celery and now half cut mushrooms added in the Kung Pao chicken, so now LESS chicken...it's just not what it has been previously.... It's...
Read moreFor years I have lived in the area and drove by this place and never tired it, so yesterday I decided to try it AND I HAVE SO MUCH REGRET DOING IT. The food itself was not too terrible, but it lacked this flavor that made me want to come back again. Some of the stuff was very dry and they didn't offer any sauces at all.
The thing that is making me give them 2 stars is their service. THEY WERE SO MEAN! I had a hard time hearing in the room because there was so much background noise so when I couldn't hear them on stuff, they got mad and screamed at me. One of the ladies gave me this evil look like as if I murdered her family and she was wanting revenge on me. My entire experience there felt so uncomfortable and I honestly will never go back again. These guys to me are just a trashy/ghetto version of Panda Express.
To the staff, learn how to treat your customers with respect and grow up. If you had delicious food, I'd say you maybe could get away with it, but the food is not very great at all and if you keep up what you're doing, you may lose more customers and perhaps even the whole restaurant. I have never been this disgusted with the service of a restaurant in a long time and it takes a lot for me to want to leave a...
Read moreYesterday, December 3rd, I ordered some orange chicken. The woman that was making the food packaged what I ordered and put my food in a small bag. As soon as she handed me the bag, it ripped. I asked for a new bag and to remake the food. She ignored me and continued to serve the other customers. I asked again and she continued to ignore me. Another customer handed me an extra bag she received and told me she wasnt ordering from this restaurant due to how they treat their customers. I asked to speak with a manager but to no surprise, no one was available. The woman kept ignoring me as I said to her that you don't have to be rude or disrespectful, all I asked for is for you to remake the food. I try not to say that it has something to do with race because anybody can just have an off day and not feel like engaging with the public. However, after reading the reviews on here and yelp, other people of color experienced the same treatment. I will NOT order here from now on and just like the comments before this one, stay far away from this place. I've been to better Chinese restaurants in the valley that treated their customers far better than this place. Please...
