3rd visit.. First 2 visits were OK and only one or two issues and not worthy of a review. Yesterday's visit was one that left me wondering how does a place like this stay in business ? Answer, very few breakfast restaurants in the immediate area. Stated with our order coming out. The waitress and cook communication was non existent. Ordered eggs over well, they came runny. A big hair hanging out of my wife's omelette, went to counter with open Luther and no hair nets on kitchen personel. Waitress wrote down my order and it came out not only with runny eggs but reorder was messed up. To finish this already ruined breakfast experience, the hostess/manager walked down our aisle and after filling coffee at the next table she looked at her coffee pot in her hand and saw she had only a little left so she turned around and without saying a wordreached across my wife's plate and topped off her coffee and did the same to mine. This was after just adding cream and sugar in an attempt to have a cup of coffee the way you like it. That near perfect cup, ruined. Was a bitter nasty flavor now and even the waitress agreed it tasted gross. You can roll the dice as I am sure they have some good days but this place did NOT deserve the "A rating" from health department they proudly post on their front door as the restroom was disgusting. A for sale sign would give the locals something to look...
Read moreMe and my husband went in for a late night meal as we are very busy and hungry we choose the place as we have never had any problems at this location however tonight that changed we were made to feel discriminated against by an employee who we found out to be the busser halfway into our meal we were told they were getting ready to close and that we needed to hurry . There was also another table who was eating and talking who didn't get advised to leave or rushed out like we were. I have never been made to feel this horrible in my life. I am also not one to through race into anything however this evening It is my belief that me and my husband were rushed out due to the color of our skin as the other table in this establishment was a table of white people. And none of them were arviadv to hurry up. I will never be returning to this location. This is unbelievable and as a General manager at a restaurant I would never accept this type of behavior from an employee towards a guest who is putting money into my establishment . I will say that the food is great however the actions of one employee has left a horrible taste in my mouth. Resulting in my choice to not return to...
Read moreFirst of all, as someone else had pointed this out, I too am a GCU student, however I hadn't discovered this place until I needed to get my tire replaced at the Discount Tire next door. I wasn't in the best of moods but my experience at Country Boys really turned my day around. I was pleasantly surprised to see the array of food choices at this restaurant--I chose a chinese platter--the Chicken Lo Mein. The Chicken Lo Mein was good, possibly above average... however, the real surprise was the AMAZING fried rice followed by the homemade eggrolls! What a plate! I ate all the fried rice, the two eggrolls, and half of the chicken lo mein, which gave me a tasty lunch the next day--all for $9! The service was great, and the waitress gave good conversation as I was eating alone! I would recommend anyone to try this delicious plate--I can't speak on the other food, however the general consensus around GCU is that it's a wonderful place to eat. A big surprise considering its location (it's kind of hard to imagine a smaller place like Country Boys has such a great following). Also, the fact that there's free wifi is a huge plus! I will have to start stopping...
