Cuban Foods Bakery & Restaurant — Restaurant in Phoenix

Over the last few years I’ve developed a love for a good Cubano sandwich. Recently, one of the restaurants that had the best one I’d ever had sadly closed. I happened to be in the same area as Cuban Foods and decided to stop by. The door had a cash only sign but fortunately an ATM was right around the corner. I ordered the Cubano and the plantain chips with garlic sauce. The Cubano is ENORMOUS. As you can see, it took up the entire to go box which made two meals for me. This sandwich was definitely worth the price! The fries were thin and well seasoned. I love that it was grilled and the flavor was delightful. The plantain chips were crunchy and tasted exactly like the ones I had previously that I was so missing. The garlic sauce was more of an oil with garlic chunks which isn’t what I was expecting but it was really good! They also have a pastry display case with many delicious looking desserts. I am cuban 100% and in my search for my favorite food I' ve been in all the cuban restaurants in the phoenix area, and some in san diego. this one is THE ONE here in phoenix. don't let the strip mall to impress you! real Cuban food, super tastie! they have Cuban desserts (wide variety) and the food is excellent! the service is a little different than any other place where you have been bfr but, very similar of what you will get in any cuban restaurant anywhere in the island! lol very very authentic..!!! cuban food in phoenix doesn't get any better than here!! 100% guarantee my fav: tostones (plantains),yuca con mojo(yuca rooth),masitas de puerco (fried pork shops), congri(rice w/beans cooked together) and lechon asado (roasted pork) and tocinillo del cielo for dessert t!!! I am Cuban and I am from Miami FL I am very disappointed with this supposedly Cuban bakery. Dont call your place Cuban if you don't know what Cuban food is it's very disrespectful to Cubans. And to top it off the workers werent even Cuban so they had no clue about Cuban food. I ordered a Cuban iron beer and the waitress didnt even know what that was so I just got a Coke Cola instead then I look to the refrigerator and see the Iron Beer there. Then I ordered the pan con bistec my food had no fries in the sandwich like a Cuban pan con bistec should have been and my husband ordered pan con croquetas it was disgusting it didnt even look like croquetas the food tasted like very old oil I didnt eat my food I am 34 weeks pregnant and I was afraid of getting food poisoning.
