Honestly, how helpful can a review of ANY large 'chain' stores be, regardless of the "industry". I've never had any 'bad' experiences at any Fry's store, if I go to anyone of the Fry's stores 9 out of 10 times it's this one. The employees are always courteous and can most often tell you what aisle to look in, if your stand around looking puzzled. I will say that on average the prices are higher than some competitors. Now that I'm writing this I realized that at Fry's I often see items with 'use or sell by dates' that are usually pretty close to marginal. I always look in the back for ones that have a later expiration date. I don't always find them. ( a std supermarket way to make sure they don't have a lot of expired foods) Most often I see it with fruits, and pre-packaged bowls or plates of dairy and fruit products and seafood products. I always check them at any store. There is a larger selection, imo, of "healthy" natural, organic etc type items at their competitors. Lastly there is one 'service' that, at least to my knowledge, Fry's doesn't offer. (I could very well be wrong and just haven't seen it) That being delivery OR Express pickup. So I mostly use that competitor not only because they deliver, they carry several product brands that I prefer and it SO much easier to shop online and you ALWAYS find online deals not available in the stores. Delivery times are easier and depending on what you order it can be left on your doorstep while you're at work or not home. You can give them an approx time to leave at your doorstep so it doesn't sit all day. There's an easy to use smartphone app thay could not possibly make it any easier to shop. So I mostly use the delivery service. Literally it is less expensive than driving to the store. Likely because the shop online app has TONS of deals that aren't available in the store. Also the delivery packing is done at a warehouse so I very rarely encounter at item that may be out of stock at one store and in stock at another. I don't think Fry's 'loyalty' card is quite as good as it is at the competitor, that I use, except for discounts on gasoline. (I see a lot of stations will use Fry's loyalty card for cheaper gas prices.) I can get a couple of weeks worth of groceries, delivered and between the 'deals do jour'', the loyalty card and free delivery $140 worth of groceries ends up delivered and I pay $105-$110 cheaper than their own store and even bigger savings compared to the same list at Fry's. (Yes', believe it or not I did actually take the same grocery list to both stores a year+ ago ONLY ONCE and the competitor's out the door price was consistently less expensive and sometimes not by an insignificant amount.. That was not counting the loyalty card savings for either store.) The 'date' issue could easily be either coincidence or that store. Other than those couple of things, it's a std big chain grocery store. I just find it easier and cheaper to shop online and get...
Read moreI am a delivery driver that has been on this route for 6 years. ( I deliver some Mondays and Tuesdays depending how the routes are made) I have always had friendly interactions from the front staff even the receiver in the back. I usually take packages on my dolly through the front door. But today I had an abundance of boxes that would result in multiple trips. So I called and asked if the back door could be opened. A nice guy at the customer service desk called someone for me. A lady named Melissa opened the back door. Then proceeded to pretty much scold me on frys policies ( that I didn’t know about) saying she can not open the door to anyone but the semi truck frys deliveries. I had her sign for the packages she scribbled quickly on the board and would not tell me her name. I asked her if I did something to upset her, she didn’t answer, so I said “wow you have great customer service” she proceeded to say back in a nasty voice “so did Juan”. I don’t know if Juan was a different driver that she had delt with, but for her to treat me badly for his mistakes, and this being my first interaction with her, upset me. Now when I have to deliver here I know I won’t have that same welcoming feeling that I had before. I took my break after to buy my lunch from frys ( like I always do) and went to another employee and described her to find out her name. I think maybe she needs to be retrained on how to speak to others when needing to resolve an issue. I’ll continue to deliver here and have my lunch here, because all the other employees are great! Also probably should remind this person that every person she talks to is a potential customer and should be treated as such. Because I am a regular, no matter what clothes I wear, frys customers are people with all...
Read moreI go to this Frys because its convenient to where I live. But the evening staff needs to be more welcoming. Everytime I check out after purchasing my items. I feel this overwhelming unwelcoming energy. I'm not saying it's all staff. But their is a select few I can sense it from them. Body language and treating the guests. One night I came in 15 mins before closing right after work. One of the team members shouted to me saying "Hey! You have 10 mins left!" I understand the store closes soon. That was very rude and unprofessional. And to be honest dont appreciate that treatment. What happened to manners and politely letting your guests know the store is closing. Another moment occurred when I was checking out tonight. The cashier didn't greet me she also forgot to ask if I had my frys card. Which is almost automatic plugging in your alternative number to activate your card so u can get the discounts. But the cashiers demeanor made me forget to plug it in. She just told me the total. As I bagged my groceries. She grabbed the remaining of my groceries putting them into my personal bags. Then shoved them to me abruptly. I don't know if theyre having a bad day or something. But I think they can do a lot better. I don't know if they need extra training or they're not comfortable with interacting with the public. But something needs to be addressed please. One of the many reasons why I usually go through the self...
