Golden Oak BBQ — Restaurant in Phoenix

Why you should eat here: The BBQ meats, sauces, sides, and dessert were excellent!! Service was "top-shelf!" Beers were very good. Price for the quality of the food and experience was worth every nickel!! Upon entering the staff greets you with a smile and a welcome in. Plenty of seating, very well arranged, with tables for 2,4, and groups of more. Plus large comfy couches. Plenty of bar seating as well. I ordered an Oktoberfest beer from Oro Brewery (in Mesa), which was good. Later I had a Saison from Oro as well, which was tastier than the Oktoberfest. Food: with a recommendation from Alicia (bartender), I picked 2 meats; Brisket and Pork Belly (smoked around 14 hours to perfection), came with choice of 2 sides; I chose Mac n' Cheese and Beans. (See pics). Sauce; my favorite was the Tangy, which bursts with flavor in your mouth!! I also met another employee Grant, with whom I engaged in conversation about the establishment, the food, the brews; etc, very knowledgeable and nice guy! After I devoured the BBQ plate, Alicia and Sara convinced me to try the dessert (only 1 dessert on menu, but well worth it), which was unique and very good, if you like corn, Carmel, ice cream, edible corn flowers.,,,, as I said "unique". Alicia and Sara also told me they have a cocktail that is very tasty and garnished with "Black Ants"!!! I tried them on a lime, good, different but good. Order the cocktail, I think you'll like it. The place was clean, smells of smoked BBQ, clean bathroom, nicely laid out restaurant. Overall my experience was awesome!! I highly recommend giving Golden Oak a try!! I want to thank Alicia, Sara and Grant for their kind hospitality...

Decided to stop by this restaurant with my family on the weekend and must I say, wow, am I blown away. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. I specifically ordered the caesar salad, St. Louis ribs and the starter wings. Each plate and bite was filled with flavor that you truly cannot find anywhere else. The owners are also very friendly and check-in to ensure that the service is up to par. You truly cannot find this type of service, attention and incredible food elsewhere. Excited to come back again. I’m already craving the salad! 11/10, would recommend! Ya’ll are doing something right! Definitely recommend for everyone to check it out &...

This place was new and convenient so I decided to give it a try for the group. First off beware of GPS directions...it takes you behind the restaurant and no way to get around front. The menu looked good, but for the group decided just to asked for family style with the meats and sides. First disappointment was they were "out" of 2 of 5 sides. The meat portions were good although the pork belly was just fat. The chicken was good as was the brisket, but the sauces were not to the group's liking. Service was more focused on the bar than seated customers. Some other menu items might be better but for BBQ it was a disappointment. I hope...
