Joe's Philly Steak & More — Restaurant in Phoenix

I stopped in here by chance after smelling someone else’s order. Best decision I’ve had in a while.

The food was amazing! As someone who grew up on the east coast, a good cheesesteak really brings me back to home. And to be able to experience that flavor so far away really made my day.

The staff was amazing and talking to the managers/owners made the experience even better. I’m not the best at conversations- I’m just a bit awkward I think- but they made me feel so comfortable like I was talking to an old friend. Just at ease.

They were so kind and so funny.

I had the joes king cheesesteak combo. The taste was on par. It wasn’t filled super thick which can be common for a Philly cheesesteak but honestly that was perfect for me. The fries were both thick and crispy which if you know fries, you know that’s not easy to do.

Craving buffalo chicken fries? You might be tempted to visit The Buffalo Spot a block away for their "world famous buffalo fries"... Don't! Seriously, they're not even comparable value to Joe's in price for quantity, or quality. I ask for grilled onions and green peppers added to their buffalo chicken fries and pair it with a grilled veggie sandwich, but that's a bit overkill....the fries alone are a huge portion, well enough for two people. I won't pretend that everything on the menu is super fun time magical fairy frosted crack balls, but then I haven't moved past my buffalo fries. Yeah, sure...they have other stuff that might be good, but holy dang those effin fries got a hold on me.

Update: Still the best buffalo chicken fries around! What I don't understand is why a place called Joe's doesn't have Sloppy Joes? It makes perfect sense and you can add Sloppy Joe fries to the menu, which...

Ill give 4 stars for Joes. Im from Philly (43yrs ago) & ive been looking for a place thats just as good a cheese steak as in Philly. This restaurant is placed on my favorites because they do make a good cheese steak! For all you who think a cheese steak has peppers, & mushrooms, lettuce & tomato on it....you are WRONG...an original cheese steak from Philly has ONLY...chopped steak, fried onions, & provolone cheese!! On an italian long roll Thats it! Joes makes them this way, or anyway you want it. This past wk they had problems with the phone, so I had to drive there to make sure they didnt close down. I am somewhat a regular. The service tends to be a bit slow, but good. French fries with Sandwich is a must!! I do agree with other reviews written about making sure youre getting what you ordered, the counter help mess up a bit, but if you repeat your order 2-3xs theyll get...
