I stumbled upon this place yesterday, and I am glad I did, but I'm also super disappointed because it is about 45 minutes away from where I live. 😫 Any time I am in the area, I will be stopping in.
I had the quesabirria tacos. It came with a side of beans and Spanish rice. My meal was fantastic. Best quesabirria I've had in AZ so far. Beyond being impressed by the tacos, I was impressed by the Spanish rice. This was the first time I had Spanish rice in a restaurant, and felt like it actually had great flavor and texture. It was like having it homemade, authentic. I enjoyed the beans, too. Appreciating that they sprinkled an actual Mexican cheese on the beans. I believe it was a queso fresco, but I could be wrong.
I came between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't super busy at the time. I was fortunate to be there during that time because the owner came out, and we talked for about 30-45 minutes. If the food had been mediocre, I would have come back just because the owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met. His story about how he got involved in the restaurant business is one for the books. He puts his full attention on demonstrating to his customers that they are valued by this family business. He even writes thank you cards to customers ordering from food delivery services because he doesn't have the opportunity to thank them in person.
Their current 4.8 star rating comes as no surprise to me. When people put this level of attention into the customer experience, the food tastes even better.
Now I just need them to invest in a...

Los Cuatro Nietos is not just a restaurant, it’s a delicious little love letter hidden in Phoenix. A true gem so tucked away, you’d think it was trying to keep its magic all to itself. But lucky for us, we found it — and wow, what a treat!
From the moment we walked in, we were wrapped in warmth. The owners greeted us like long-lost friends, with smiles so sweet they could’ve been on the dessert menu. They took the time to walk us through the menu, recommending dishes with genuine care — not just to sell, but to make sure we had the best experience possible. Spoiler alert: they nailed it.
We were a group of six, and like a good potluck, we brought all kinds of flavors — different states, different tastes, picky eaters and foodies alike. And guess what? Every. Single. One. Of. Us. Loved. It. There wasn’t a crumb left behind — even the napkins looked nervous.
We tried a little bit of everything and it was like a flavor fiesta in our mouths. My only complaint? I didn’t have a second stomach. 😅
We were so blown away that we’ve already made a pact: every time we’re back in town for work, Los Cuatro Nietos is our mandatory pit stop. Forget the hotel check-in — first we eat, then we function!
Run, don’t walk. Bring your appetite and a few friends, because trust me — happiness is best shared, and so is that...
