✨NEW Must Try Coffee Shop✨ So as you guys may know, we love visit coffee shops. I took two of my favorite people to try out the brand new The Coffee Builders in Phoenix, AZ ANNNDDDD well, this spot blew our minds. The interior is gorgeous with crazy cool woodwork by Thomas Porter. It’s dark and moody inside. Relaxing and calm which I quite like. I think it would make for an excellent spot to work. We met Johnny, the man behind the amazing coffee drinks and he gave us an insight on what inspired his coffee journey. When you stop by, make sure to ask him about it. Ps. Prices are awesome. 24oz specialty coffee for only $7!!! 50 cents for oat milk blessssss 😌 Check out my reels for what we tried and let me know which drink is your vibe in the comments. 📍 @thecoffeebuilders 🗺️ 901 S 7th St Bldg C, Phoenix, AZ 85034 🌵 Patio space opening soon #panthereats #coffeeshop #bestcoffeeintown #arizona #azfoodculture #instaaz #phxfoodculture #coffeelovers #coffeecoffeecoffee #coffeereels #phxaz #phxfoodie #phxeats #phoenix #phoenixaz #phoenixfoodie #arizonaliving #foodreel

1/18/25: Short version - what a pleasant surprise Coffee Builders was. There's more parking than you would think, a lot more seating as well (outside anyway), and a larger menu than I was expecting. Definitely a place we would visit again. Longer version - the ball park is close by but it's still in an area I would have dubbed "sketchy". It's a building that looks relatively new so I always thought it was out of place, and my bad for thinking it was small and had crappy parking. The parking lot there on 7th St has about six or so spots but surprise to us, there is a larger parking lot in the back to accommodate CB and the few other stores close by. That's what happens when you drive by quickly and don't Google map a place: you make wrong assumptions and miss out eating / drinking at a really cool place. The inside is well decorated, has plush seating, was a bit cramped looking though for my taste buy hey! another surprise: they have a substantial sized patio north of the building. They do have heat lamps and I noticed misters for our hot summer months. Awesome! They have a pretty large drink menu and fairly substantial food menu as well, including paninis, lavash, and more importantly pastries. :-) My sister said her chocolate pistachio drink did not have a lot of flavor, that she would get something next time; my bourbon vanilla hot chocolate was good despite not tasting the bourbon (ha ha); the strawberry rhubarb pastry was extremely flaky; the prime, pimento, & blue panino was delicious; and finally, the mini ube waffles were pretty good although I not good enough to get again -- not with all the other items to choose from and explore. I will say the patio chairs were a tad ... odd. My sister is a large person and she felt they were too narrow. In my opinion they were very short in depth, meaning the seat edge ended closer to my butt than my knees. I will say they are the heaviest patio chairs we have encountered so good luck trying to steal one. LOL! The presentation of the beverages & meals was well done, and though the pastry came on a glass plate, the hard plates used for the meals are made out of pressed palm leaves so 1) they were pretty damn sturdy, and 2) are compostable (based on my research). I love this! All in all, for two people's drinks, meals, and one pastry, a bill of $65 (incl. tip) although some may say a bit high for breakfast, we both agree it was worth it. And yes, it will be on my list of "let's go there again" places to eat / drink.

Coffee Builders, by Thomas Porter of Porter Barnwood, is the most luxurious coffee shop in Phoenix, showcasing Porter's design and construction talents, as well as his passion for elevated hospitality, coffee and cuisine. The small former 1960s office building, completely reimagined by Porter and his team, feels expansive despite its footprint, thanks to clever design like the tessellated wooden ceiling. Solid walnut tables topped with brass lamps line the space, offering a touch of industrial chic. Plush blue leather banquettes and gray and gold barrel chairs add a touch of luxury. This impressive feat is a result of Porter's lifelong love for woodworking. The Phoenix native has honed his craft over the years, creating reclaimed wood pieces for renowned restaurants like Pizzeria Bianco and Toca Madera. The Coffee Builders' ceiling itself draws inspiration from his work for Toca. Porter’s philosophy of offering an elevated experience that goes beyond the usual is evident throughout the menu. The Smorrebrod, a Danish open-faced sandwich, features a unique rye bread not found elsewhere in Phoenix. For a more decadent bite, there are the Champagne Truffled Eggs topped with caviar. The Black truffle Burrata and Tomato salad offers lighter fare, in addition to more wholesome offerings of sandwiches, lavash and waffles. Pastries are inspired by original recipes from the former German bakery, ‘Kaffee Kuchen.’ The beverage menu is host to unique lattes like the Wonderland Truffle Latte, a savory cup of olive oil, truffles, and dark chocolate. Wine lovers can enjoy the California Cab Latte, made with Camus Winery Cabernet and local organic honey. There's even a blue-hued Matterhorn Bob Sled latte featuring pea flower, white chocolate, and blueberry. Cold brew enthusiasts can enjoy a cup finished in bourbon barrels for an extra kick. Coffee Builders is a must for anyone seeking a luxuriously unique coffee experience in Phoenix
