It’s 245AM and here I sit missing OHSO. What a great spot. I’ve been twice now and both times I’ve been floored by the outstanding food and service provided. From the moment you walk in the door it’s a perfect experience. It seems as if you have the best hiring manager/team in the industry as everyone there is kind, fun, helpful and works hard. From the greeters, to the servers, to the bus boys/girls - absolutely brilliant people. That alone is reason to call this one of the best places in all of Phoenix to eat. I don’t even have to consider the food as the people alone make it worth it. That being said… the food. Oh, the food. :) clearly that brilliant hiring manager/team found the best chef(s) too. Duh. We have had 6 total different items between us now and once again, absolute perfection! You see that I’ve done a lot of reviews. I can easily and honestly say OHSO wins in every aspect. I have never been more pleased with a restaurant. From pizza, to sammiches, salads and app’s, beautiful. I applaud each and every one of you. You absolutely know what you are doing and have created an amazing spot. Please keep it up. Never sell and never change. I know you have a loyal customer base and I know why. Don’t break our hearts. We need you. ;) You know who else needs you? All the puppy dogs you welcome and honor. That’s another perk. It’s wonderful to see the support, love and care you give our fluffy butt friends. In fact I’m so in love with that aspect that I got pictures of them vs the food. The food doesn’t last long enough to get in camera either. You can’t wait to devour it when it shows up. So, enjoy the puppy pics. Thank you for being amazing OHSO team. See you soon. Keep it up.

Our three Siberian Huskies went to the OHSO on Central last night. Because this restaurant is also human-friendly, they brought us along with them. They really enjoyed dog watching (and sniffing) from ground level, while we enjoyed people (and dog) watching (and food sniffing) from booth level. The large covered patio proved to be a great place to dine on a beautiful late April night. Although the temperature was perfect, there are both misters and heaters for when it’s not. The place has a casual, beach-in-the-desert vibe, accented by the long, colorful line of Adirondack chairs along the canal embankment, where we imagined whiling away a Saturday afternoon (or any afternoon or evening, actually). Although this joint is beer-centric, it offered plenty of wine choices in our sweet spot (around $50). The menu offers everything you would expect, from interesting starters, to handhelds, to creative pizzas, to salads, to mains, as well as house-made dog treats, which is why the huskies chose the place. We humans were torn between the TLC (Tender Lovin’ Chicken) and the Angry Bird (Buffalo-ish fried chicken). Our dilemma was solved by our excellent server, who offered us a side of Buffalo sauce with the TLC. We also shared the excellent Southeast Asian Fried Rice from the Test Kitchen April specials list. Our dogs will be back, and I’m sure they will bring us along. YouTube’s Chef’s Apprentice

I was so excited to try new location but very disappointed with experience on a Wednesday night after happy hour. Parking was a nightmare. People are running across Central Avenue. My food was poor quality, dry limes, browned guac, not served fresh. Sangria full of ice and not wine ($9). The server never checked on us after serving our food. My shrimp tacos were too spicy to eat and served with tortillas with holes directly in the middle of them ($18). I would have ordered another drink to try something else but the server never came back. I'm pretty sure my daughter's dinner was Kraft macaroni and cheese. Same daughter stepped out of her seat and almost got trucked by about 3 kids that worked there. Our plates sat on the table for 30 minutes after everyone was done eating; I was about ready to bus them myself. It's overpriced and the service was terrible. The bathroom was also filthy dirty. Spoke and wheel food and service was much higher quality. Not returning but I did dig the interior design. I appreciated the historic bits about the neighborhood but North Mountain Brewery on Dunlap is 10 times better.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at OHSO Sunnyslope in Phoenix (Central) on 12/01/2025 around 11:30 am. I’m writing this review to share the absolutely appalling experience I had at OHSO Sunnyslope today. My group and I went in with our three well-behaved Dalmatians, who were calmly enjoying their treats and chews while we ate. In contrast, the table next to us had a small dog that was barking nonstop, yet our dogs were calm and not bothered by it. There was also a large dog leaving the patio with its owner, and when the small dog started barking, the large dog lunged at it, causing a lot of growling and commotion.

One of our Dalmatians, who was on a short leash, briefly jumped off her chair but was quickly corrected and returned to her seat. There was no issue, no noise, and certainly no bad behavior from our dogs. However, while we were eating, the host or floor manager came over to us, claiming he’d heard about the interaction between the dogs and, without even bothering to ask for our side of the story, aggressively threatened to kick us out if it happened again.

What happened next was truly shocking. He grabbed my full plate of untouched food from the table without any warning. I was left speechless for a few moments. When I asked him to return and speak to us, he admitted he hadn’t witnessed the situation firsthand. When I questioned why he was making such a harsh judgment without knowing the facts, he had no solid response. He claimed the bartender had said one of our Dalmatians jumped off the chair—but still didn’t address the fact that the entire time, the dog barking next to us was ignored.

I tried to give him some constructive feedback about his approach, but it’s clear that he lacks the necessary soft skills to handle such situations appropriately. It was extremely frustrating and unprofessional, and I can’t help but feel that OHSO’s lack of training for their floor manager is a major issue. Not only did he mishandle the situation, but he also took my food without permission—something I’ll never forget.

We used to visit OHSO at least once a week, and as a regular customer, I can confidently say that this will be the last time. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be sharing this negative experience with my dog community. OHSO needs to seriously rethink how they train their staff, especially when it comes to handling customers and their pets. The way this situation was handled is...

I really love Little O's and their commitment to customer service. As a longtime Sunnyslope/North Phoenix resident, I was really sad when Spoke & Wheel closed, but I am so pleased with how the new OHSO/Little O's has filled the void become the perfect landmark to end the bridle path.

Little O's coffee and donut bar is fantastic (my daughter, who is 3 years old, loves standing on the little step and watching the team members make her a donut). I go there multiple mornings per week and LOVE it. They have great coffee , great customer service (shout out Todd for always remembering my order, greeting my family by name, and for providing an overall positive outlook on the day), and a really nice environment to help get your day started. I think Vinnie and his team have made a commitment to being welcoming, and assuring that everyone from the neighborhood wants to make Little O's a part of their morning routine.

In addition to Little O's being a perfect place to get your day started, I love how you can grab a last minute gift and accompanying greeting card from their shop.

The rest of the OHSO experience is also very nice. We have eaten multiple lunches and dinners both inside and on the patio and they have all been a nice experience. My wife and I also enjoy the pizza and wine/beer take out special for an easy night at home. Thank you specifically to the Little O's team for providing a great experience each and every visit, but also to the entire OHSO team for doing a great job putting together the...
