Pizza & Pita Zone — Restaurant in Phoenix

I happened upon this hidden little gem one late night while DoorDashing. I had to pick up an order from this establishment, which turned out to be a blessing. Upon entering, my bf and I were promptly and cheerfully greeted by the man and woman (married couple, I think) running all aspects of the restaurant. It was about 20 minutes before they were set to close, and I picked up my order. However the aroma was so mouth watering and tempting that we both decided to order a cheese pizza to go just to try. It was late and we hadn't had dinner yet. We placed our order and let them know that we would go drop the delivery off and cone back to pick up our pizza, giving them time to prepare it. We'll, the drop off location for that specific delivery turned out to be about 18 minutes one way, so about 36 minutes to make it back. Upon realizing the time I called the restaurant to advise them that we were still coming but we had to go further than anticipated. This was about 5 minutes before closing. They were so kind about it and said they would stay there and wait for us go arrive to pick up our order. How thoughtful. We headed back that way but about 5 minutes after our anticipated arrival time we were still a ways out. They gave us a call to check if we were OK and I we were still coming for the pizza. I let them know we were almost there. We arrived about 20 minutes after midnight, their closing time. Our food had been kept hot snd it was so delicious. The man was waiting there for us with a smile, no scoul or harsh judgments and stink eyes about the delay in arrival. With such amazing people running that place providing what should be the gold star standard of service, I'd say this place tops other similar establishments. The food was incredible as well. Excellent service and food..... what's not to love? Definitely will be back. Thanks to the couple that was working that night. You are the reason we will come back from now on. The owner is so very sweet, so I am a little sad to be posting this 😩. The last three times we have ordered gyro combos (gyro with French fries) we have been really disappointed, with both items 🙁The French fries have been terribly soggy and have the appearance and taste that they have been reheated in a microwave, after having sat in a fridge for several days... The lamb has been dry and crispy around the edges, and left my mouth with a strange, beef flavored aftertaste... 😐 Lastly, if the only thing you add to your gyros are tomatoes and thinly sliced red onion, the tomatoes need to be fresh & red! The tomatoes have been very mealy and are a very muted "red", more like an orange. Think of the hot, orangey tomatoes McDonalds serves on top of their soggy, wilted lettuce... Lets just say, they appear to be buying produce from the same dude. If you want crisp, made to order French fries, huge gyros with fresh crunchy lettuce, fresh RED crisp tomatoes that are not hot, nor cold, but you can tell they were just cut and taste like tomatoes from your garden, along with really good, tender meat- try Z's Greek around 40th st & Indian School. When I go to Z's, I get two gyro combos, two drinks, and an order of cheesecake (they give you 2 slices per order)! for $22... just a few quarters more than what I paid at 24th st pizza and gyros, but didn't get any cheese cake or the good food that I was expecting. If I had to choose between a 2 min drive to 24th st gyros and a 45 drive to Z's, I would choose Z's, every time. Sadly, I won't be...

I am.livid I spent $62 on wings etc on 12/29/22 only to have my son bring me a piece of.chicken with a long curly hair wrapped around it. We are a family of dread loc's and no one has that kind of hair. I called to.rwport it the lady was rude and said that she couldn't do anything about it because nobody here has that kind of hair, when literally she had a foreign language and said she had no.oroof. I explained I have the air and looking at it, she says you didn't order through me, but online through an app called slice. and said contact them, we'll I did.and they were.also disgusted and ready to.refund my $ and talked to the resturant and because the lady refused to authorize the refund she couldn't. how disgusting and how nasty, even if it wasn't the full amount atleast something to acco.odate what we are dealing with. I will never order from there again and she was rude. Then she had the audacity to twll me. " I don't make much money" and that's 1 reason she could refund me. Then she says it could've been from the delivery driver, then she says it's my hair. Then she says you got.tour food, yea food with hair you and your establishment are rude, and should not be able to.cook nor.serve food. You should hope I don't call the health department, I have the hair in a paper towel and best believe I will be...
