I hate to write bad reviews but it happened twice. We decided to go back here to give another try. The first time we went my girlfriends taco came out cold and it happened again tonight but it was both the beans and chicken taco. It's a health code violation to serve chicken cold but just keeps happening. When we asked about it and sent it back I thought they would send out a new taco but instead they took the plate put in microwave and brought back. How great is a hard shell taco heated in microwave.? She took 2 bites and was done. They did offer a new one but at this point she did not even want to risk trying again. You know the first time we went in and brought to their attention they did bring another new one out and they still charged me an outrageous price for a single ala carte taco. This time we told the waitress this is second time this has happened so they took it off our bill. When we asked the waitress about it she seemed like we were putting her out. Well then don't have your kitchen send out cold food. It's crazy when the plate is hotter then food. So far she is not sick but wondering if she will be. Again shame on them for sending out cold food that does make people sick. Who knows how long that's been sitting back there cold. First time accident but second time well that's an issue. Don't waste your money!!!!! Our waitress brought out the bill and didn't even say sorry for that nothing just acted annoyed with us. They were over there a group of workers next to kitchen window laughing carrying on but can't get their food right....
Read moreColorful Mexican cantina style restaurant. A little reminiscent of Sinaloa on Bell. We have a Taco Tuesday group and try new restaurants nearly every week. This week was Plaza Bonita. Our goal is a great TT menu, excellent happy hour margarita and great food quality/value. Unfortunately, Cafe Bonita doesn’t have much of a TT or happy hour special. $2 off house margaritas (making them $8) and one special for 2 tacos w beans and rice for $10. The margaritas were good. But nothing special.
The good news is that the food is pretty okay. Not stellar. And not something we would praise. We liked it.
Most of us had the taco salad or fajita salad or the taco special. We all enjoyed it. But nothing stood out or made you say “wow”. This place is awesome.
We were all satisfied.
Service was really good. We were well taken care of.
Our vote is… one and done. Good restaurant. But in the 70 or so Mexican restaurants we have visited for TT, this one doesn’t need to be repeated by our group. .
By the time we were finished there was a line to get in, which surprised us. So clearly there are folks with different opinions than ours -...
Read morePrior to Covid this was a favorite place to go. First time out to eat since Covid. I had to ask for water and napkins, and was just about ready to ask for my silverware. The place was virtually empty. After eating I walked to the door to make a call, I was easily ten foot from the nearest person until an employee came up within 6 ft from me. I know you have to wear a mask if not seated, but not being out much in restaurants lately I neglected to fully place my mask on when I left my seat and before getting back to my seat. I was replacing my mask which hangs around my neck on a lanyard, walking to my seat and asking the employee who had walked up to me the address of the restaurant. Rudely, not even in a nice professional manner told me to put on my mask. I get it but then again, this is an all new situation and rudeness has, in my opinion, no place in dealing with customers especially under the current social conditions. Good luck Plaza Bonita, I'll be supporting other...
