6/29/24: OMG, was Rito's good! They won the trifecta: superb service, delightful decor, fantastic food. If you have not tried Rito's Crown location, you are missing out on mighty fine food. Long version: we wanted decent Mexican food for lunch and we definitely had that at Rito's. Off the bat, there is a large parking lot to the east of the complex. We arrived around 2:30 or so and there was also plenty of street parking. Could be a totally different story for dinnertime. It is not a huge restaurant but it is well designed on the inside (seating and decor), plus they have a nice sized patio on the west side of the building. The picture shows umbrellas; I did not notice misters. Needless to say, we opted to sit indoors to escape the heat. Chips & salsa were deposited onto the table within seconds of being seated, shortly followed by water. Bonus: they did not bring straws with the water. I did get one with the horchata, EXTRA BONUS: it was compostable! That's a great thing in my mind. The horchata? Some of the best I have had, and I have had it from many different restaurants because I love it. Our server, Missy, was pulling double duty as the bartender. Amazing. Not only was she funny and polite, but she did not even have to write down our order; kept it all in her head -- and did not screw it up. She absolutely deserved the 20% tip. The other servers were also punctual with water refills and clearing off our plates; I wonder if they receive a portion of the tip ... ? This complimentary chips were thick & crispy (they paired well w/ my side of beans). We ordered quite a bit because we wanted leftovers for dinner. The crispy beef and crispy chicken tacos were great (although I did nab some of my sisters sour cream to dab on them), and the side of beans were so good. My sister's three way burrito was huge and well seasoned. If you see her plate there is hardly any room left on it, thanks to the heaping sides of beans and rice. I highly recommend Rito's Crown location.

Ok so I've been a huge supporter of rito's restaurant over the years. They are a true success story and a testament of the American dream. The first time I tried their food was I believe in the late 80s before high school. Let me just say that there is no comparison to the kind of cooking and cuisine that they serve anywhere. it's so authentic and so homestyle that you feel like you are eating your Nana's food. Every single dish is prepared exquisitely. I have never had a had a bad experience at their Garfield location and tonight for the first time I decided to try crown King, I am so genuinely happy and proud for Rito's/ family restaurant. They have done an extraordinary job a passing on their same recipes and flavors to the newer upscale restaurant on Bethany and 7th Street. To me they aren't only "The best of Phoenix" but I believe they are one of the best in the country. A true Mexican authentic experience... So Delicious!

Amazing burritos! First time here and our server Stacy was fantastic. We were torn between the red chili beef and green chili pork and honestly both sounded so good that we couldn’t decide. Before we knew it Stacy had brought us a sample of each which was truly above and beyond and so appreciated. Both were so equally flavorful and so completely different that we had to get one of each. Both the beef and pork were so soft and tender that it melted in your mouth. I highly recommend you get your burrito chimichanga style for an amazing golden crisp crunch that pairs perfectly with the intense flavor of both the Green and red chili. I was also craving a frozen margarita but they only serve it on the rocks however, she asked the bartender cristalle if they could make an exception and do that for me. Cristalle was so kind and generous and did exactly that and wow, was it fantastic! This place is a must in my book!!

Two of us stopped in for lunch. Parking was great - we were only a few feet from entrance. There was no wait to get seated. For some reason the server who seated us & took our drink order began cleaning the bar, but he never returned to serve us. A different person brought out our drinks & food. My drink order was wrong & when I mentioned it she questioned me as if it was my fault. If you're gonna switch servers you might want to repeat the order back to the customer before bringing it out ‐ since you can't always rely on the previous server to pass on the details to the new server.

When our chips were gone we had to ask for more while waiting on our food order to come out. Most Mexican restaurants will notice whenever a chip tray is empty & their servers will gladly bring out more without being prompted to do so. It kinda felt like Ritos - Crown was being stingy with the chips. It was obvious that the tiny cup of salsa was not enough for 2 people (very stingy serving) - needless to say we had to request more salsa as well. We also requested 2 small plates so that we could enjoy the chips & salsa without being forced to double dip after each other from the same container!

When we finally got our order my rice had bits of hardness as if it was old rice mixed with freshly cooked rice. The refried beans were delicious. The chicken tacos were good, but the beef taco lacked flavor. The chimi was huge and filled with flavor!

Overall the meal was pretty decent so I may give them another try. Our check was about $65 + tip . We chose to dine in since they no longer have the misters blowing in the...

Today I was taken back and literally was appalled by the rude customer service my family and I recieved. I have grown up with the love for Rito's and their food and always spread the word for what good food they make and others should try. I have been to the 14th st location and the 51st location and was excited to try out the new location with my mother and children for Valentine's day for the first time but because we were pressed for time I decided why not order online and it will be ready by the time we get there and we would just have to order drinks. As we were seated at a table a young guy comes over and states because we ordered online we couldn't sit down to eat, online was to go only. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told him so your saying I just spent almost $50 here and we cant sit and eat? He again tells me no because it was ordered online. My mother knows the family well and asks whose son he was he states her name and then goes to get her. As they come out and my mother and her are talking some about situation and some about the family this young guy continues to try and talk over his mother. I couldn't believe how disrespectful he was being even with his mother as if it was his company. I will NEVER come back to this location! I pray that someone teaches him better customer service etiquette and some manners for his mother because customer service is #1 to a successful company in my opinion. You can have amazing food but it doesn't matter if you have rude people running the place you will never have...
